Hit 90 mph a couple times...no flexing whatsoever ... were you in aero mode or normal?....mine was in aero if that matters?

I noticed mine (2019 Laramie Longhorn flexing Kinda like a heart beating Was raining at time and I thought it was more of a reflexion. Flexes dead center.. I wonder about leaning into it waxing and rubbing off wax.

never noticed any flexing in my ,12 even at 70+ mph-with the hood stripes I would think I would notice it -but maybe that helps to keep it from doing it -but I really doubt it. Now I will have to test it at 75mph--Cant wait!!!

You know they had to notice that on Chrysler testing, road test, off road, etc. Everybody and their uncle did a Test/Reveal video. No one reported it. Odd.
I did think anything of it until I came across this forum. 5thgenerationram. Hasn't reported it. I just link this message on their website so they'll surface.

I pulled the sound deadening sheet off the hood. Found a 3/16inch gap east to west on the hood where support structure runs across. It's glued on each side but the gap runs about 24 inches between the glue spots. I shoved a piece of foam board 4x12x3/16 inch to support the hood /support frame structure. Tomorrow I'll see if it flexes . It starts flexing at 57 mph. The wind is pushing it up and down .Hard to see you think it is reflection from something. But once you notice it's distracting . Rain on the hood helps with contrast

For what it's worth my 2011 flexes pretty good at highway speed. I can sit there and watch it but I've learned to just ignore it. It looks like it's going to fly open at any time....a little unnerving.

Funny you mention that. I have a part of my commute where I run about 85mph for a few minutes. Parts of the road have a few irregularities that I'll get some lift and some downhill twists with light braking just to scrub off maybe 10-15 mph. I did notice what I thought was cowl shake, but now that you mention it, my '15 was as solid as a bank vault. I'll watch it tomorrow. Btw, anyone notice on their '19's that the drivers door doesn't close flush with the rear door? It's like a fraction of an inch, no wind noise or anything, just another item on the punch list when I go in for my first service.

Is the drivers door sticking out a bit further? The leading edge of the rear door tucked in behind the front door? That is by design - same thing on my 2016 F150. It's all in the name of fuel economy. The leading edge of the pickup box is also tapered to be slightly less wide as the cab for the same reason...

Two straight days of doing 90+ consistently on my 19 Laramie with no signs of flexing. It’s black and obviously our hoods have the normal hood design but I don’t see anything beyond that. And we have been in tremendous thunderstorms with wind for the last week or so.

So, I've now put 100 miles on my new Limited, and during highway speeds the hood flexes. It's like a suction effect with the center of the hood compressing in and out when I go around 60mph or more. I realize the hood is aluminum, so maybe this is normal? Would it help if I adjusted the hood bump stops? It's a little unnerving to see the hood flexing like that. I had to actually pull over the first time I noticed it to ensure the hood was properly closed. If this is normal, then I will live with it but admittedly I have never owned a vehicle where the hood flexes like this. Maybe my truck is a transformer and is teasing me as it's in the beginning stages of changing into Maximus Prime :D

You’re joking right? Maximus prime? Really? We drive rams. They are undoubtedly going to be a Decepticon not a prime [emoji30]

How you liking the 2019? They are growing on me

Only went over the 1st page, didnt wanna read 6 + pages but if dealer cant help maybe try drilling a few hole in the fake hood scoops(of ya got a sport hood)and see if that allows more air in that area to help act as an air pocket....

Found out for the first time yesterday that my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie hood also flexes at highway speeds. This can’t be good in the long term for the paint. I spoke to my dealer yesterday and they claimed it’s the first they heard of the issue. Sure hope they come up with a fix.

Saw my 19 Laramie do it too, but it wasn't super noticeable.
Only could tell due to water on the hood.

Do a Google on hood flutter. Hood flutter adhesive. They even make adhisve for HOOD flutter. Exspencive plus applicator a special designed caulk gun.

Best way to see it is if rain drops are washing back over hood. Gives more depth perception. The flutter is going to be approximately 12 inches from rear hood opening. Dead center. Between the reinforcement bends. Under your hood there will be a gap on the spider frame across the hood (side to side) there will be a support piece on both side running front to back under hood. The cross piece will have a factory applied glue adhesive appropriately 1 inch long on either end of the cross piece of spider frame. Between the two glue points is appropriately 18 inches of dead space where factory could of ran an adhisve bead of hood flutter glue. I shoved a piece of 12 long by 4 inch wide by 3/16 inch foam board in between the gap. Problem solved. You can buy replacement hood sound mat stays from Amazon. If you damage them removing the hood sound mat.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share a TSB that sounds like what you all are describing.

Number 23-029-18

Subject:
Hood vibrates, shakes or flutters while driving at highway speeds

Symptom/condition: Customers may experience the hood outer surface to have a shake or flutter while driving at highway speeds above 65mph.

Please note I am not a trained technician, so I cannot confirm this is exactly what you're experiencing. However, if you end up taking it into the dealer, feel free to send me a direct message. I'd be glad to help with that process.
