Why is this on a Ram forum? International, Ford-where is the Ram connection? Legit question here.

This is the "Other Vehicle Discussion" section of the forum, where you can discuss other vehicles besides Chrysler / Ram vehicles.
If you were to read ,it plainly tells you that just under where it tells you this is the Other Vehicle Discussion section.

"Talk about other vehicles that are not Ram specific here."

Tractor water pump gave me the clearance I needed. Save me over $1,000 in modifications. Alternator also clears the hood. So I don't need to waste money on the 7.3 alternator swap. So another $500 saved.

Unfortunately the exhaust manifold is hitting the cab :birgits_tiredcoffee

Time to get high, cut that ******** off and do some body work. Good thing I just got approved by VAC for 10g a day coverage :hat: the 7g a day wasn't cutting it anymore.

Unfortunately the radiator is going to hide the international emblem I made on top of the active shutters. We'll have to mount the radiator to the grill even though I didn't want to do that either. But with the tight clearances I don't have a choice.

But she does fit, I guess that's what's more importanter :anitoof:

Back in the 1960's, my dad drove an International V-190 that had the regular gas engines in them. This company had a bunch of those trucks. I rode with him many a mile in them.

The company had one that blew up, and decided to put a Detroit diesel and an automatic in it. They had to cut out the floor and firewall, came up with a dog house from somewhere that protruded way back into the cab.

Everyone hated that truck. It was constantly changing gears, and was so loud your ears would ring for days after driving it.

It stayed in the shop, and finally, one driver had enough. He got it up to around 50 and shifted to reverse. The company decided to park it and call that experiment a failure.

They ended up buying IH Fleetstar 2000 trucks with 250 Cummings engines, and a few with 6/71 Detroits and 10 speed Roadranger transmissions in both engine combos.

They also experimented with some of the V-190s by ordering a couple with 8 speed Roadranger tramissions instead of the 5 speed and 2 speed aux tranmission the other V-190 tandems had, and the 5 speed with 3 speed aux tranmissions the Loadstar 1800 tandems had.

Primitive by today's standards, but I look back fondly on the many miles I rode with my dad in those trucks back then.

Off topic, but your International has me hooked, especially with the DT-466 like I owned myself in the 1990s.

Did you adjust the valves while in there? Putting them about 2 thousants wider than spec seems to liven them up, at last on the 466 it does.
