Yeah if they really wanted to push the technology they shouldn't have raised the cost of the option. For me there is a sensation that you feel/notice when it stops - but it is probably one of those things you'd eventually just quit noticing.

The big wrinkle in my plans is this now... Was ready to pull the trigger but... I can't park the damn thing in my exisitng work parking spot! It's in a basement garage spot of an old ass building. I tried to navigate over the holiday when it was nice & empty and that was just tooooo damn frustrating and stressful. No way I'd sign up for that routine as a daily ordeal. Sigh. That sucked.

Now I have to consider if I keep my existing ride & buy-out the lease - use that for 'work days' when I go in; Several reasons to consider keeping the nice & comfortable 6 cylinder for daily driver & other times you don't need a truck. Keep the truck miles low that way too.

Just when my indecisive ass was about to commit and place the magic order...

I would stay away from the Etorque for a bit, axle ratio depends on how much you are towing,my 15 Ram had 3.92 gears and did not do any better than my buddys 3.21 towing enclosed snowmobile trailers, even MPG's were the same, unloaded his got much better mileage. My current DT with tow package and 3.21 axle is getting almost 22 MPG on the freeway at 75 with the cruise on. And its a Hemi

Obviously this varies depending on where you are driving (altitude and terrain), but when my truck was stock I could also get 22 highway with my 3.92's going around 75-80. I don't tow or anything, but I definitely noticed a difference in acceleration between the 3.21's and 3.92's. In my case, the importance of the acceleration outweighed the gas mileage but I was very pleased to find out it could do so well on the highway.

My 19 seems to accelerate harder than my 15 and the economy is better,70 and up with my 3.92 put me around 16,my 19 3.21 doesn't care,70,80....

That's kind of odd, considering I believe the power train is mostly the same and the 3.92's should clearly be better for acceleration. Maybe I'll have to test out a 5th gen 3.21 vs 3.92, but with the 4th gens I noticed so much of a difference that I went out of my way to get 3.92. I'm a little picky with gears though, been driving a 66 buick with 2.93 gears for 15 years now, and I've always balanced that by getting a 3.73 or lower gear in my trucks.

Unless you tow heavy loads constantly or drag race I will take the 3.21,pushrod motors like to pull even with VVT.

Fair enough, I don't do either of those, but I'll stick to the 3.92's.
