Hello all! I have a 2014 1500 Laramie 4x4 with the 20" wheels. I bought the truck last June and the day I bought it, had a set of 4 Goodyear 275/60/20 tires put on (I forget the model, I can go and look later when I get home) and an alignment done as well. I've put 19,000 miles on it since (lots of road trips this past year plus I use it for business) and the tires are worn out to the point my truck will not pass inspection so I am hunting some new tires and refuse to buy Goodyear again (since they are only good for a year). Yes, I did the recommended rotation and all 4 are equally worn out (even though I thought the tires had a 50k warranty).

So what do you guys recommend for tires? I want something good all year around (I live in Pennsylvania and travel to the mountains a lot in the winter for skiing/camping and get into a decent bit of snow), I do a decent amount of highway traveling (road trips and weekend getaways) and barely tow anything (maybe a trailer with an ATV or a load of dirt here and there).
I am open to anything other than Goodyear.

Thanks in advance!

welcome tony! been my experience there is no one tire that will do all things well. you might want to take a look at the BFgoodich KO2s. it will give a bit of a stiffer ride. my bighorn came stock with Goodyear wranglers. seem to be wearing well, ride well and got through our 1 26 inch snow storm. heavy wet packing snow. i'll ride them till the need to be replaced. my go to has ben master craft tires and usually an all-weather type tire.

Thats good to hear because I was just looking at some Coopers, the ADVENTURER & DISCOVERER

My family owns a repair garage and can get me a good deal on them, just trying to read up on the differences.

They might be a little too aggressive for what I am looking for.

I did some research, came up with the following:
  • Cooper Discoverer AT3
  • Cooper Discoverer SRX
  • Mastercraft Courser AXT
  • General Grabber HTS 60

Had Cooper ATPs in factory 20" size on my 14 and really liked them. The AT3 gets slightly better reviews. ATPs are a Discount Tire exclusive and were very reasonably priced.

Also looking at the General Maxxis HT-770 Bravo Series
-- so far the best price out of all the tires i've looked at - about $485 (plus tax) for all 4...

Funny but I've had Goodyears on my Dakota since it was new 17 years ago and always put them back on. They last easily through 6-7 years before I start worrying about rot and replace them. I use the Wrangler version but can't recall the specific model. The OEM style tires you probably got were the "high wear for a smooth ride" garbage that would likely be OEM level. In 50 years of Driving I've never had issues with Goodyears. Generals have been good and these days Falken rate highly.

But as they say in the sewing circles~ YMMV

You might be talking about the Goodyear duratrac I had those on my jeep and they lasted really long and very beefy but the Goodyear sra's that the rams come with are complete garbage I will rate them equivalent to Chinese there that much of garbage.
