Port fuel injected, my man. No GDI back then. 3800 was a terrific engine. We owned one.
I've had a few 3.8's over the years starting way back in 89,and they're good engines, but GM couldn't put a decent front wheel drive transmission in the cars for the life of them. The engines were great, but their FWD transmissions sucked

living the retired life,so no snow driving unless I want to,studded snow tires on the side by side, snowmobile is running perfect, ice fishing gear is ready to go,and when the day is winding down, sit in the hot tub with a cigar and a beverage and watch the shenanigans going on out on the frozen lake.what's not to like.Canadian winters don't scare me at all.it separates the real men from the p#ssies.I could spend the winters in the sun,but I like the winter playgrounds.this would probably kill some of you.

Can’t say I share your love of the cold. But I’ve seen my fair share of winters. Spent the better part of 60 years in Eastern Washington, where it often gets well below zero for weeks at a time. And other years that rarely see single digits. Honestly it’s the years that hover right around freezing that were the worst, at least as far as driving goes. I’m done with that now that I’m retired. Call me whatever you want, I love warm weather and enjoying my cigars next to the pool. And yes, -40 would kill me lol

After 2 consecutive years with almost no snow in central Minnesota, we're getting average snow so far this year. A foot out of the annual average of 5 feet.
I quit running AT tires after retirement as I stick mostly to paved roads now. I ran General Grabber AT3 before, really good. Now I'm running Goodyear Workhorse All Season. They're pretty good, and I have 4x4 plus torsen locking rear axle. Good enough. Michelin Defender was not available in 20" E for heavy duty trucks.

What your just getting snow? Cousin down in north IA said they got over a foot just after Thanksgiving, since then they have had snow several times a good 10 or more inches of snow, at least you will have a white Christmas, I do miss seeing snow on Christmas day, maybe I need to move back to the mid-west....

Get the 4 + seasons here: HOT, STUPID HOT, COOL (sometimes cold enuf to be below 32 F but nothing cooler than like 15 F except for Feb 2021 freak storm), occasional hurricane or tornado stops by.
I lived in the Texas Hill Country like you. Suffer through the summer months, suck down copious amounts of oak and cedar pollen and try not to die, slide off the roads when it ices over, dodge tornadoes and hurricane fallout, and that's all within a week, LOL.

Confirmed. I'm in Iowa. We got 12.5" the first snow and 5.5" last Saturday. We aren't even officially in winter. Keep telling the wife I'm about to hammer a "For Sale" sign into the frozen yard. We are due for 3-5" more tomorrow, another 3-5 on Saturday and headed to -25 wind chills (-6 air ambient temp with 15-20mph winds). So in summary, ***** this place. Over it already.

My wife want to move back to IA, like yesterday, said she's sick of all the idiots here in Oregon, oh the cost of living in IA is around 25% cheaper, housing 40% cheaper, gas in IA $2.25 gallon compared to the $3.79 here, $4.39 for diesel and $3.44 diesel in IA....

The trade-off is that the outdoor options here are very lame. Very little public land. If it's plantable, it's being farmed by somebody/corporation. The state parks are pretty limited as well. Lots of good, honest, down-***** types still around and their friendliness goes a long way, so there's that. Just filled up today at $2.35/g - yay for ethanol blends (here comes the ethanol conversation again, lol).

No, it started the day before Thanksgiving here, and it's been snowing every 2-3 days since. Today was 7 inches. More on the way.

I am not in the Hill Country. That is more NW of San Antone and such areas. Now, I do at times go down to Marble Falls to the Blue Cafe, great pies, that be a motorcycle ride through back roads. I am in Central TX between Dallas and Austin. We get the friggin pop out of no where tornadoes, and more of the tail end/side of hurricanes as them puppies love to slam Galveston and Corpus area and move North up coast, I am no where near there. Land Lubber BOIRD I be. Yup on the pollen, and it gets so hot sometimes U do not dare not crack open a window on yer ride when it is parked.

Heck just working outside in the summer for 2 hours I can go through 3 Gatorades and 3 bottles of water. WHY I have a mini fridge in the garage just fer cool/cold beverages. As the BOIRD gets "slightly" older, I find my tolerance fer heat not what it was, alas, why I try to parcel out work a bit at a time. But I have been in 4' snow climates, and driven through ice tunnels, heck I still got my shorty parka and muckluks in the closet. Upstate NY near Canada on the lake on flightline was argh friggin "chilly". Those memories make me feathers shiver, LOL.

ADDED: We average 1" of snow in winter here, dat's enuf. My days of chest wading through snow drifts and shoveling snow off of roofs are long in the past.

Some pics are always nice to peruse, as long as I do not have to personally experience, lol.

This is the first Deer season in 4 years we've had snow on the ground for first season...
On the bright side- I just got my sled back from getting a brake job so it's all ready...
