Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone can help me out with the rabbit hole of info I have found myself in.

I have a 2002 1500 with a 4.7 that is ready to spit a rod. I found a lead on a 2003 1500 4.7 that sounds in great shape. I figure the price is much cheaper than getting a new vehicle... which I can't really afford atm to be honest.

From what I can find via google has my head going in circles. According to this thread:

https://www.ramforum.com/threads/2002-ram-1500-4-7-engine-swap-to-2004-ram-1500-4-7.158522/

The 03 engine will require the pcm and harness from that truck, which is fine because they are selling that with the engine, however I am not sure if that will work with the transmission plugs, and the inside of the truck, the dash ect.

This guy is will to travel quite a ways to deliver it to me as well so that is great but I don't want to be stuck with a truck I can't drive in the end as this is my only means of transportation.

Cheers,
James

truck.jpg As you can see, this thing is no show vehicle but it has grown on me... manly because I haven't had a truck for a while now and I won't care about taking this thing into the bush. But I would hate to put any more work into this and not have it working 100%. I've already done the head gasket, timing chains, put new hydraulic lifters in before realizing my main issue now was a rod knock, so I bought some bearings and tried putting some new ones in but it was too late and she is toast again.
