I recently replaced the heater core, so dash was removed and all wiring to the dash/steering column was discconnected and reconnected. Truck started and idled fine for a while, tested the AC and heat while truck was running and had no issues. Took it for a test drive and truck started hunting for an idle speed. the red lightning bolt popped up and started blinking along with check engine light. I know this has to do with the throttle control, but i had no issues prior to servicing the heater core/dash. I rechecked all the connections i had to disconnect taking the dash out and everything seems in place.
Any insight here on what i might have screwed up on that would cause this issue. Obviously it has to be some wiring issue. Battery was disconnected throughout the whole process. I checked connection of the APPS and sensor on the throttle contol, everything seems fine. Any idea on where to start diagnosing this? I dont think a sensor went bad in the process of removing the dash.
