2003 Hemi Catalytic Converter

So, when I bought my truck, someone had cut the exhaust off at the catalytic converter. I managed to piece it together, but it isn't right. It keeps coming loose at the connections. It is just clamped. I want to replace the catalytic converter and do the exhaust right. Does anyone know of a place to get a converter for a reasonable price? Everything I'm finding is between $300 and $500 for the cat.

I could. Problem is they cut it where the red line is in the picture. Without those goofy bends, it is putting everything at an odd angle and it is even breaking the muffler where the pipe comes in.

If that's the case I'd try sleeving it with another piece of pipe.

Some years ago I experimented with cats and IMO the 03 factory cat is a excellent cat performance wise. Magaflow has some 3" steel cats that hold up to high heat with high flow (low cell count). I believe in the $200 range. Might try Summit to compare and see whats available..
