4.7L doesn't matter how long, if it over heats the heads are warped. Unfortunately that's the only way to put it. my '03 blew a lower radiator house three block from my house and I thought I could limp it home. Fixed the hose, but other issues reared their head on the first drive. Steam, jerking etc. Took it home yanked the heads and sent them to the machine shop. Warped for sure. Had them surfaced and I reinstalled.

Ran like that for another 60K miles till the lower hose blew again. It was on the highway going about 90 at the time. Guy that bought it from me @198K miles pulled the heads and sure enough he had them surfaced again and as far as I know it's still going.

@czervika is correct - the heads on the 4.7 warp quickly when the engine overheats.
