As indicated, I have a 2003 2WD Ram 1500 (Hemi) with 150,000 miles. Engine has a serious miss almost causing it to stall when going uphill. However, once operating temp is reached missfire generally goes away and truck runs fine. I'm probably due for some new plugs and wires. I'm concerned my fuel pump may be acting up. Research shows fuel filter is part of the fuel pump and tank must be dropped to replace pump. Any ideas if those symptoms are consistent with fuel pump issues? That's a really expensive fix replacing the fuel pump on such an old truck.

Have you scanned for codes ?
It’s cheaper to do a proper diagnosis, than to just start randomly replacing parts. Can save money and reduce frustration.

Those engines are common for broken valve springs... so "low" compression in a cylinder, could cause a misfire when cold or under load that gets better when warm.

That's an easy test to run... see if a cylinder is low. If it is, you can fix it just with removing the valve cover. I replaced a few broken ones in mine.
