I have read so many post on this that my head is spinning. Still trying to find good headlights for my 09 Ram. Wouldn't mind the projector style with DRL like the Rebel has in them. Are these a direct fit replacement? Any idea of what they cost?

I have read that there are fitment issues with some of the aftermarket lights as well as quality issues. I understand JJ makes some awesome lights, but the quote I received last year was about $1k. No arguing that they are probably well worth it, but if I can find some from a later model Ram that will work I may be able to order from Ram or find some from a salvage yard.

Did you do any HID upgrades. You will have to excuse me, I don't quite understand what HID is.

High-intensity discharge lamps.
I had one set, always had issues flickering, or not coming on. So refused to go back tot hem, even now.
Now you can do LED, cheaper, cooler, and less issues.

Great. I sure appreciate the feedback. You have been a lot of help.

I take it the install is not too tough? JJ give pretty good instructions?

I might be mistaken Ramroy, but LED may not disburse light correctly with projectors.I can tell you led on my last projectors were horrible, but they work great in my quads.

So what do you recommend for light upgrades. The stock lights suck. I would like DLR.

What bulb does the ones JJ has, that greygoose linked to, use?

Ramroy, I am far from a lighting expert, just sharing some info I have read on the forum (or maybe thought I read, lol) and some of my own experience, so couldn't provide meaningful recommendations. There are a couple threads here that have a lot of info on lights. I don't recall them at the moment.

Graygoose, I recently pulled my projectors and bought some aftermarket quads with black housing and clear sidemarkers. Ofcourse, bulbs were horrible. I gave mictuning H11's a shot and am happy with them so far. Link below. I'll provide a f/u on that with my experience in the near future.

No, I just swapped from factory H11 to a Sylvania H9.

So ordering some H9s would be suggested with the link you sent? Does that link include bulbs?

If you want LED's on that Amazon link, use H11
