Hello fellow forum members.
I am interested in knowing and or learning if it is possible to convert my 2009 slt to a sport front bumper of a newer year? The 4th gen Ram is from years 2009-2018. So because of this fact will it be possible to remove my beat up 09 slt chrome front bumper and replace and upgrade to say a 2016 sport bumper cover and all the additional parts? Will the newer parts bolt in directly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's do-able,but is not cheap as you need everything behind the bumper as far as brackets go,and the bumpers and grills changed in 13 so you'll need the matching grill. Have you thought about buying a new unpainted bumper and having it colour matched to the truck, that'd be a lot cheaper and is a direct replacement that'll dress up the front end some.If you decide to do the Sport bumper swap, you're best option would be to find a wrecked truck that still has a good front end and buy everything off it including the brackets

Thanks for the reply BowersFJ. Wild one, im not worrying over the price I was able to find all the parts required to do the swap/upgrade. My worry was that it wouldnt be an exact fit. But you are saying that it will work IF I have all of the new parts....correct? Thanks again!!

So it will fit??

Any body confirm that the bracket hole locations on the frame didn’t change from 2012 to 2013 ?

Yup,just not cheaply, lol. You need everything from the frame ahead including all the brackets.
ok, but by from the frame you mean?? I have a list of everything I need. I basically used the information I gathered from other post talking about slt to sport swap but used the newer model parts instead of the same year.

The brackets that bolt to the frame are different,so everything from the frame ahead you need.Crawl under a later model Sport and look at the brackets that bolt to the frame, then compare them to your brackets.Dealerships are good places to crawl under one and look ,lol

Roger that, im picking up what you're putting down. In the list of parts needed to do this job I have listed the brackets that bolt to the frame as well. I am positive that it will work. I will check with dealership and junk yard before I start this purchase of parts
