2010 ram console conversion shift cable.

I’m doing a console conversion on my 2010 1500. I have a console and bezel off a 2012 I got from a local auto salvage but didn’t get the shift cable.
Can I use the shift cable on the column shift or do I need to get a new one? If I need a new one, can anyone provide me a part number?

No you need the console specific cable. Just get one off eBay; that's what I did.

I see you're in Berta, I have the 2012 shifter you can have before I throw it out... lol...

Unfortunately, Im away due to for a few weeks has my dad just had in lung transplant in BC but my wife knows wer it is.

Unfortuantely I just cut that cable when I did the 8 speed swap... lol... Was much easier to remove it that way

How do I know which cable it is though if they are different. I’ve yet to see one that says column or console shift, they just tend to say shift cable.

The plastic clips breaks when you pry it off 1/2 the time. Mine was held on with a zip tie for 4 years... lol..

Hes better off buying a new one.

Check Marketplace and your local wreckers,odds are somebody will be wrecking a console shift truck,although you might have to buy the shifter to get the cable
