What is the best 75-140 gear oil. I have been using Valvoline synthetic gear oil which has friction modifires already in it. Do you also need to add Mopar limited slip additive 8995 to it or is it good enough out of the bottle? Mopar gear oil is 3 times as much and I have always had good luck with Valvoline. They don't make a 75-140 synthetic without additive. For my Nova with Auborn posi I use conventional and Auborn additive.

This one, can't beat ester based fluid in gears or transmision. If you get it, make sure you do NOT order the same one with NS in the name. You wont need additive 99% of the time, and if you do you add one ounce at a time only if you have shudder til it goes away, but nobody has ever had shudder here and a lot of guys run that oil. ^^^ I switched my rear diff over to this stuff sometime in the spring.

No issues, no extra friction modifier needed in my LSD.

As Burla stated RL 75w140 or Amsoil SG. Either will work fine in your LSD and you can get either for not much more than M1 or Valvoline gear oil.

Burla, what does the ns stand for, don't want to get wrong gear oil. Think 57914 is the one I want. Thanks for the advice.

No Slip I believe, as in no slip additives in the formula, but the bottom line is the gl-5 spec for gear oil hasn't changed since it was first developed a long time ago. So if you read the OEM specs for the one I posted, you will see it has all of the specs, it just isn't updated since 2004 because gear oil hasn't went through the changes like engine oil has. If you look at OEM capatibilty under the NS gear oil, there is no modern specs, it is for ancient gear boxes. The oem compatibilty is located on most of redlines products.
