Jeep is making a truck next year... google.

Imagine walking into the dealer, ordering a 6.4 RCSB hemi 1500 with 4.10s, or hell even your normal cummmins with something more than 3.42s and the dealer high fiving you and yelling 'MERICA. Instead, EPA says "you cant have that".

Take the time to vote accordingly this year...

So I ran across this thread, which kinda is the exact opposite of what I've been hearing...

Is this true or not?

So could I not swap to some 3:92 gears and theoretically get my 7th & 8th gears back (35s) without having to buy a front diff (and other parts) from a 2010 or so...?

IMO

Man that's awesome, now we just gear options lol.
My plan is to regear the rear with Moes 4.56 R&P with the Yukon Duragrip Carrier and Master install kit. Run it a few months with no front driveshaft.
Find my front diff and driveshaft from 09-11 1500 and regear it. Then hopefully sell my stock diff and rear LSD with 3.92s to recoup some of the cost. Collecting all crap I need for the rear now.
Mag base and dial
Carrier Barrieng Adjustment tool (homemade)
Race driver
Extra Pinion bearings to dremel out to use for initial set up
Yoke holder (homemade)
Gear puller
Gears
Carrier
Etc etc.

I think I've read just about every install thread and watched every video lol. I've wanted to do this myself for a long time and can't wait to finally do it.

It's not welded but no one makes a gear for it so we're still stuck with swapping to a 12 front diff unless we can all talk to one manufacturer and have them make us the gear we need. I talked to modern performance that Matt from moes uses and he was gunna look into it and let me know what he could come up with but that was 3 months ago and I haven't heard from him

I've mentioned this before and maybe I'm an idiot but you would think maybe one, just one, of the ridiculous number of D44 gears might possibly fit?! The "ZF" front diff is 215 mm which = 8.464" which is pretty much 8.5" which is what a D44 measures. Sure would be nice if one of the gear manufactures/vendors could give some feedback as to what the "challenges" are..................

My guess is that the "challenges" are anticipating enough sales to make it worthwhile setting up to make them.

You can't just put a 8.500" ring gear into an assembly that had a 8.464" one. 8.464" is waaaay off from 8.500" in differential land (it's 0.036", or over 1/32"). In fact, it's way off in wood land from where I sit, with our allowed production tolerance of +/- 0.005", and typical actual tolerance of +/- 0.003".

So again, that fact that 215mm is "close" to 8.5" has absolutely no bearing on anything. In fact, I would say you would be better off fitting a D44 axle assembly into a Ram than an 8.5" ring gear into a a Ram ZF differential.

It's like saying that 13mm is so close to 1/2", that you should be able to use an m13x1.25 instead of a 1/2x20 bolt. I guess with a big enough breaker bar you may get it to "work". Not sure how strong it will be...

Hey, everyone. Anybody still following this thread?
I’m looking at getting a new diff for my 2015. I found a 2010 with around 300000km on it but for only $300.. think it will work?
Also, if I swap to 4.10’s will I need a tuner? Or will the truck auto correct over time?
Right now I have 2015 1500 bighorn cc 6’4” box, with a 4” bds lift and 35’s.
