Hello,

I recently replaced the fog lights in my 2012 Ram with Sylvania bulbs and they are working great.
Can you guys recommend the same brand of bulbs for headlight use as well? I know it’s important to
“Clock” them correctly and I’m not sure if its possible with Sylvania.

(Pic attached with the Sylvania Fog Light Bulbs)

Thanks!

Most, if not all, halogen bulbs don’t need to be clicked due to the bulb versus an LED imitating a 360° bulb output.

There will be 3 tabs at the base of the bulb where it twists into the headlight housing.
One of them will be larger than the other 2,so it can only be installed one way

You guys didn't read the OP's subject line.

I will only recommend the LED bulbs that I have used and been very happy with the performance.

Both Fahren and Auxito have served me well and I know of many other members who have had great success with the same.

The only caveat would be to always choose a low profile bulb so you do have to get deeper back covers on the light housings.

Higher profile bulbs from any manufacturer will be a PITA or not fit with the back covers on, with our Ram trucks.

On a personal note, I fed Sylvania halogen bulbs to my Tundra for more than a decade. They consistently lasted about 30-60 days longer than the warranty and promptly expired.

I will never buy Sylvania anything after that ripoff especially when there are other competitively priced products available.

You sho right lol

I’d also recommend Fahren Termitors. The Sylvania line of LEDs is embarrassing IMO and that’s from personal experience.

If you do run into issues with the LEDs fitting snug, use a metal pick to remove the previous bulbs o-ring and slide it all the way down on the new bulb then secure it into the socket.

Thanks! I wondered if Sylvania would be the best value :)

The last time I looked on Amazon, Fahren was the best deal plus they used to advertise a 2-year replacement warranty. When I received mine, they indicated an extra year or 3 years for registering online.

What is the bulb part number you require?
Do you have dual or quad-style housings?
The picture you posted above, looks like quads.

I installed 9005s in my truck and the H11 version of the following bulbs in a friend's car.
I haven't any experience with the H13s.
$40 for this set which will likely work well for low beams.
I'd recommend a brighter set for high beams if using Quads or Projectors.

I'm not positive the following light is the correct bulb, please check your manual to confirm.

FYI, some of the earlier model Ram trucks can be more challenging with LED upgrades, regardless of brand.

I know you have had success with the fog lights but, sometimes the headlights are more difficult.

The 2014/2015 years seem to be more particular and occasionally suffer from flickering and intermittent drop-outs. The good news is that most are easily fixed by using AlfaOBD.

AFAIK, most 2012 Ram trucks are plug-and-play.

Yea I could see that happening. I used to have an 08 Cummins and it hated LED’s. The 12’ has been less temperamental so far. Here’s hoping!
