Today I noticed my trucks temps were going past half it’s never gotten past half its stays right before half mark. I have 122k I’m guessing it’s water pump and fan clutch there’s no signs of leaks or missing fluid. Also heat on passenger side is hotter

Left now and right previous

There’s no specific distance or condition for it to rise blasting heater helps any advice thanks from Michigan

I would go into the settings, and select vehicle info. From there scroll and see what your eng, trans etc temps are doing as well.

Btw…… you need gas!!!

Your engine will shutdown from lack of fuel before it overheats :favorites37:

Keep in mind that your fuel pump is cooled by fuel in the tank. Rarely let it get below 1/2, definitely never below 1/4 for me If it can be helped. :waytogo:

The evic is not Oem I don’t have button on steering but I plan to add. Any other tell tale signs also can I see those parameters on a scanner. no worries it’s always full it’s a coincidence gas has gotten cheap here appreciate the concern

There’s no controls for you to select from the menu?

How do you get it to display etc then?

I'd lean towards radiator clogged. Feel around for cold spots when it's hot. Classic symptom of a clogged heater core with pass side hotter than drivers side, not to far of a stretch that maybe both affected

If you go to a parts store they can do a scan and tell you what your vehicle's temp is. You can also ohm out the contacts on the sensor with a cheap multimeter, and compare to an ohm/temp chart for Dodge Rams (just google it). Check cold, then warm to and compare to ambient temps, and whatever the temp is on the upper hose water neck (engine-side) ...using an IR temp gun (pointing at #3 below).

Could also be the thermostat (fairly common).

Usually water pumps begin to leak before they fail. You could look up ...from underneath, and see if you see any coolant coming out of the weep-hole on the bottom-side of the water pump. If it's dry, I wouldn't condemn it w/o checking the other items.

Fuel pumps, btw are on the very dead-bottom of the fuel tanks on Rams. So even if you have just a splash of fuel in the tank, the pump will get 'cooled'. So the half-a-tank-rule really applied to older cars/trucks.

Thanks I think I’m gonna start with a thermostat and a water flush and coolant change when I stop by a shop

Don't buy an el-cheapo thermostat. I'd personally get a Chrysler one. But that's me. Make sure to use distilled water and the 'right' coolant for your yr Ram :)

Good luck

Is the electric radiator fan working?
I’m not sure but it’s doing way better it was the thermostat. The temps would climb at weirdest times speed and rpm didn’t matter . Now it’s cool under heavy loads any speed
