So I am normally posting in the 2nd gen section, but I have an uncle who has a 2013 Cummins Turbodiesel that has a 3 inch lift and 37" tires. He does have a tuner on it and wants to have it straight piped, but he has been told by the exhaust shop and some of his friends that it can't be done because of all of the computer emissions stuff on the 6.7L So I was wondering what the rest of you thought or if any of you had experience with this? I am wanting to know soon so if he can straight pipe it, its done before I take it to prom:burnout:
Thanks guys.

They make delete kits. Check eBay. They're in the 1,000 to 1,500$ range for a turbo back exhaust, Some bits of wiring, and a tuner that will disable the emissions hardware.

I don't know if they have them for the 2013's or not. The EPA has been cracking down on the tuners who will bypass emissions. You apparently now have to sign a waiver for off road use only or something to that effect.

He does not have a tuner on a 2013 nor do they have an exhaust out yet. Nothing has been made for a 2013 cummins yet

There are tuners out for 2013.
There are not any delete capable tuners out for '13s, RaceME is supposed to be close

He could "straight pipe"'it bu removing the muffler but as long as the emissions equipment is there there will not be any gains or even change in exhaust tone

Incorrect. There is nothing out for a 13 cummins yet, I own a diesel performance shop. Nor is there even a muffler underneath that truck. There is a cat, dpf and 2nd cat that uses def to cool exhaust gasses. No muffler, no tuner.

Sorry for the confusion, he has a tuner from his 2009 cummins. Though he said it was for this one.

incorrect, bulldog has a ecm (or whatever it's called) unlock so you can use their tuners. But no delete tuners are available.

Gee, you must know everything about diesels then...

I wouldn't just call the SCR catalyst a cat as it is very different from a catalytic converter .

Just shut up. I'm dumbing it down for him, trying to be nice by helping and you have to be an a**hole. People like you ruin forums. Just stop, your not adding knowledge to this thread by trying to be technical.. Who cares.

No it's people who play the "I own a diesel performance shop, I know everything there is about them" attitude that ruin forums.
It's ok to say hey I didn't know about that product, looks like I was mistaken

Keyword there is mistaken. Instead you have proved that you were wrong. 3 of your 5 posts are in thread and each one is negative and lacking relivent information.

I was adding information to the thread by giving complete and truthful information.

People here generally have good attitudes and members are pretty good at self moderating, unlike most "other forums". Welcome by the way, stick around a bit you might like it here after all.

Please stick to the original posts. If you have anymore questions/concerns or are still un-certain ask away 99RamSport360

Geez, I've only started two threads since I've been back, and both of them have turned negative and caused people to argue. Thanks for the info though guys.

Geez such a trouble maker...
Please don't let these rare instance (although it obviously doesn't seem that way in your case) discourage you from adding to the forum

Exactly. This place is great despite the rare arguments.

Thats ok that means you have interesting and controversial subjects!
You should post more often! But i bet you your average of heated responses will go down very fast after a few threads :p
