Upgrade Uconnect 4 to Uconnect 5 (100% worth it) it is not that hard

Hello, If you have a 12" Uconnect 4 (UAX module with wired Carplay/Android auto) in your truck. It is possible, (and worth the upgrade) to go from Uconnect 4 to Uconnect 5 (wireless Carplay/Android auto) in your RAM 2019-2021.

You just need 3 Items:

- A new Uconnect 5 Module, Part number 68504644. You can fin them in eBay, just do a search for that part number

- A new 12” screen (the old one is not compatible, the touch screen won’t work) I can supply Part numbers, There are different types, depending in the options of your truck, extra push buttons are required on the screen.

- A complete upgrade Harness kit (widely available in eBay for $100 or less)

- Some programming is needed, only if you are upgrading for a smaller 5” or 8.4” screen. (If you already have a Uconnect 4 12”, your truck is already programed for a 12” display)

BE CAREFUL WITH THESE PART# MODULES, 68598596 (only for 2025 RAM) 68527730 (Only for Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer) These modules run on the new CAN platform Atlantis, They won’t work in 2019-2024 RAM trucks.

3C6UR5FL8KG693413 2019 2500 lane keeping assist active braking surround cameras any idea of what part number screen I would need also if I get a new head unit from chrysler will it be able to be coded so I can still use gaurdian. I am able to calibrate cameras not worried about that but Im pretty sure there is an updated module for the camera system as well? any help would be greatly appriciated

The compatible screens are:

68526610, 68526598 Lane Assist button.
68526609 Traction control button
68526611 Lane Assist and Traction control button.

Moving your Guardian subscription would be hard, because you will need to add a Telematic module (Ucconnect 5 uses an external module) but more important you will need to convince Uconnect services to register that module and then move your subscription. Good luck with that.
And for the 360 camera, you will need a new generation CVPM module. Part# 56029967
The head units are available in eBay for a fraction of a cost than from the dealer.
