ive been getting calls from my dealer trying to Get me to trade in my 2015 crew cab ram for a 2019 crew cab ram. Did anybody do this? What are the benefits if any of a 2019 besides being a newer year?

The new (not classic) 2019 is a whole new truck. Bigger cab, quieter ride, new interior and exterior. I like the look of the new 2500/3500's over the 1500's. If you're happy with your current truck, probably no reason to trade unless you test drive one and decide you have to have it.

Much lighter wallet and massive back seat for midday naps.

Not just midday naps, but sleep in regularly after A) the wife kicks you out of the house for lightening the wallet, or B) you can no longer afford the mortgage payment because of the truck payment. :)

Seriously though, its pretty much an all-new truck, not a refresh, but a complete redesign. I like them a lot, but after sitting in a couple, its not "night and day" difference with my 4th Gen Longhorn. I am at a little over 70k myself right now, so in about 20-25k I'll be trading in like I usually do. The 5th gen is a very nice truck, but to me, it wasn't a "you must have it NOW" feeling when sitting in them.

To each their own. If you think you have a bit of the itch, sit in a few. See if you get the "now" feeling. If not, wait.

Thanks that’s what I was thinking. I’ve seen and sit in a few on the lot when I go to get my oil changed and haven’t been impressed enough yet to upgrade. But I didn’t drive one. Someone told me that the 2019s have much better gas mileage. I appreciate all the posts.

Did any of you in this Ram 2019 1500 forum upgrade from the Ram 2015 1500? If so, what was it about 2019 that made you upgrade? I have a 2105 and was thinking about it.

Not a fan of the regular 5th gen ram, but i actually really like the 5th gen rebel, was checking out a granite crystal one on the lot while in for recalls. Nice lookin truck, funny cause i dont care for the 4th gen rebels too much, i think the 17" rims with that pattern turn me off

I like the new look of the 19's.

I would wait until Ram updates the Hemi with something better/newer.

I tried both my 17' and the new 19', for a guy who buys mostly mid level trucks, not enough of a difference to get me to shell out more $$$. If you buy the higher trims, it is quite a bit different.

I do like the look of a the sport trim quite a bit.

Member "Hotrod" just traded recently. You might contact him and get his first hand opinion about the differences.

You know everybody that buys a 5th gen is going to be biased to justify the purchase.
That's the bad thing about opinions. lol

On topic. I feel your pain. I want a new ram but I really prefer getting a 17-18 4th gen over the 5th gen.
I just can't get over the looks. It's not horrible but I just like the 4th gen better.

i agree, the new rebel looms pretty badass in person. but i also dont like the grill. i think the 4th gen rebels are ugly. what i find dumb about the new 5th gen, is the sport package does not come with the sport hood. Canada's sport does tho. the led light package and 4" more in the back are nice upgrades. but they are kind of okain looking. more business like imo. thr 4th gen has that muscular look (esp lifted).

Unless something really grabs you about the 5th Gen, then it's not necessarily easy to justify it especially with the deep manufacturer discounts on the Classic 4th Generation. The engines once they get the Gremlins worked out are a little better and if you're looking for that truly high end trim (especially with the 12" screen) then okay I get it, but the Classic was just too good to pass up deal wise.
