Hi everyone. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel with 128xxx miles on it. The last couple weeks I have been noticing sometimes in the morning the truck is hard to steer. It kinda gets easier after driving about a mile. I was wondering if there’s anything I can check before I replace the whole EPS unit. This morning I really had to get on it to turn onto the road but after a little it straightened out again. Truck is still stock height and is used every day for work. Thanks

Did you scan the truck for codes? I would check connections/test battery ect first both will cause issues with steering. but if it turns out to be bad i wish you the best of luck trying to find one they are sold out alot of places$$$.

I did not have the battery load tested yet because the truck starts fine otherwise and it’s a fairly new battery. Also didn’t check for codes because I didn’t realize that there would be codes showing up with no check engine light. I’ll check both of those and see if it helps any. Thanks.
Also are there any aftermarket places to get the unit. I like using oem when possible but if I end up needing one and can’t find one I’m going to need to do something.
