hi I have a 2017 ram 1500 with bucket seats and my power outlet closet to the steering wheel didn’t work. Fuses all check out good. After checking everything out I only had like 1.5 volts to the back of the outlet with the key in the run position. After some tracing I found a plug under the drivers seat is where I lost some power after unplugging and plugging it back in I get like 10.8-11 volts but it still didnt work so I got a new outlet socket and put in and the same result. I am about 1.5 volts less then the one in the back seat I would think the charger would work at that but I get nothing. I checked the wire at the back of the fuse box and get around 12.2-12.4 so not sure where the loss is. If the truck is running my 11ish volts turns to 12.5 but still won’t run anything any ideas?

Turn power off & run a continuity (ohmmeter) check from the bsck of fuse box to the plug under driver seat then from there to the power outlet. Each section should be less than 1 tenth of an ohm, if higher then you have a break in the wire.

Hi i checked and have good continuity from the back of the outlet to the plug under the seat. My cables are not long enough to check from fuse box to under the seat but the wire color changes so there’s gotta be another plug somewhere anyone know where the wires run without gutting the interior I spent quite a bit of time but without taking seats, carpet etc out I can’t find where they go. After all my messing around now I have good voltage at the plug but as soon as I plug something into it the voltage drops to 1.5 volts so there’s a bad spot somewhere.
