I just went to install my tonneau cover I removed from my 2017 and it's too wide. didn't realize the 5th gens have a narrower bed than the 4th gens.Looks to be 5"-6" narrower

Weird.

A) I thought the 5th gen has MORE room in the bed, not less (5-6" narrower would equate to less room, no?)

B) I could swear I read where someone used their 4th gen tonneau on their new 5th gen and it fit close enough that it was usable.

Maybe the bed is installed sideways? :)

I have a TonnoPro from my 4th gen that fits my 5th perfect. 5-6”? That seems really odd.
mine is an Undercover Flex. 5"-6" was a guess with a quick glance. more like 2.5" narrower. Wonder if it because it's a 6.4 bed?

It's an Undercover Flex. Sorry my mistake on measurements, it was a quick glance. More like 2.5" narrower. BTW I didn't mean to hurt your feelings bud.
Hehe I'm a sensitive guy what can I say.

2" is closer at least. Does the undercover use rails mounted to the underside of the existing bedrails?

2" *could* be a mounting hardware difference. Does Undercover have a different part number for the 19 version? Or maybe they have updated mounting rails if those are used.

My does mount with the rails inside and that's the issue I think
Undercover does make a cover for the 2019 6.4 bed. There is distributer here in Ontario that has free delivery. The cover is discounted from 1359.00 to 1129.00.

I think Id reach out to them and ask if you just need updated hardware to use your existing cover.

I have not dealt with their customer service but you never know, they might be willing to help out.

I will do that, their customer service is pretty good. I had front seal come loose on one corner and they sent a whole new seal.

I went with the Undercover Ultra Flex. Step up from my previous cover. It's lined underneath each panel. You don't have to lift the rear panel to close the tailgate. Very nice tonneau cover and excellent seal, I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

I used my Mopar tri-fold cover from my 2017 Larami in my new 2019 Larami. It is little wider so I had to mount bolt clamps sideways in the stake holes and I had to drill one hole in each tono mounting rail to move it back to the tailgate by 1". Now it fits.

Good job, can you post a picture of how you did that?

The second picture shows the back of the rail I didn’t have to do anything to the screw location for the clamp but on the third picture that clamps to the front stake whole post I drilled new hole roughly 1 inch forward and have the clamp clamping the outside of the stake post hole to maximize the width for the wider tono cover. I know that the new 19’ Mopar trifold cover fits on the inside of the bed so you got to use the stake hole posts for lumber rack at the same time if you want. The new 2019 Mopar cover is almost a thousand dollars with tax I think I’d like the old one for now

Good job, looks really nice. I don't think I had that option with the undercover flex cover.

Your undercover flex has more precise design for the specific vehicle. I like it how it looks on your RAM is nice and flat looks more aerodynamic and retains the option to add the lumber rack. (kind of similar design to the new Mopar one). No key lock on top to collect the rain water
