tonneau cover

Evening all;
I'm looking for a bed cover/tonneau cover for my new to me 2022 RAM 2500 with the 8 foot bed.
I do not wish for a low profile, I would rather have it on top of the bed rails.
My 12 volt refrigerator is even with the top of the bed. Myb previous truck a 2019 1500 had a deeper box then this newer one.
I would like a hard folding one that folds all the way up the way my old "factory" one did with the rods to use it when fully open.
I'll consider anything but a soft cover.

Hi, we can help with that. We offer many brands of bed covers. Problem you will have is most of the ones that fold all the way up dont sit on top of the bed rails, they are low profile. The 8' bed also limits the options. We do have a couple options that sit on top of the bed rails but they do not flip up to the back window. What about a hard roll up or retractable?

I would not recommend the BAK Revolver X4s rolling cover. It sounds like this is not the style you want anyway. It leaks quite a bit.

I have a bak flop that folds just like you described, but at leaks horribly. Have had 2 replacement through warranty, both just as bad as the original.

With a bed liner inside, the leaking water would pool on the liner .
Then as the sun rose , the water started to evaporate, which then accumulated on the underside of the cover.
Creating a rain forest,sauna like environment.
That would drip on anything in the bed.
If I get anything to replace it will be a solid one piece , that won’t leak.
I have two bakflop covers in my shed ,that I am still trying to repurpose.

I know what I have not suit yer needs, but just post for seeing a different option. Full size fiberglass tonneau cover, actually mopar brand, color matched to truck, which when closed sits on bed sides and over tailgate. Not what U R looking for at all, but showing for variation.

I've got one of these on my 1500 and it's almost water tight, even through the car wash.
I've got the spray-in bed liner and the few little drops of water don't affect anything in the bed (i.e. mold, musty smell, etc.)

It doesn't sit on top of the bed sides, but the fit is great as is the esthetics of it.

I've been using Roll'N'Lock covers for nearly two decades because they work for my uses.

It's not dry enough to get through a car wash without a bit of ingress, but I've only had a couple of winter challenges with a frozen cover. Keeping it clean and lubed seems to prevent that from happening. No mold problems.

I like the security and flexibility of choosing an open bed or being locked up tight with scuba gear or anything else. The front canister is smaller than most others, AFAIK.

When I bought the first Roll'N'Lock cover from the original company in Florida, they had a video of a pretend thief using a K-12 saw to cut through the extruded aluminum top.
He barely got through it and made a horrific amount of noise.
Nothing is 100% secure.

EDIT - Any water that does find its way inside just evaporates and/or goes down the bed drain holes.

It's a great cover, and my 8yo daughter likes to get on top and dance on her big truck, too...

I had the OEM version on my 2019 1500 and it was a good cover and I liked it. As mentioned very little water ever got in. However my little SetPower fridge just cleared on the "19" 1500 and the bed depth on this 2500 is actually an inch or more shorter.

You would have to verify all the dimensions, regardless of your choice.
Do you know how much wiggle room you have?
Are you determined to keep this fridge, even if another shorter one were available?

With the shallower bed, you might find a shorter fridge to solve this dilemma.

The Roll'N'Lock is just above the bed sides, but I don't know if it's on your consideration list.
I have to step out for a few minutes. I'll see what I can capture in a picture.

Update for anyone who might have an interest:

Oops, another senior's moment. The Roll'N'Lock cover barely exceeds the bed sides and does reduce the overall height availability. The Ram bed on my truck is much shallower than my former Tundra.

On the inside, maybe 19.5", bed floor to inside of the cover and the end section that slides from the canopy when open and into the tailgate when closed, a bit less than 19" clearance.

YUP, I got my stock for this reason: There used to be (2) but mine died in 2020. Wife's baby, still have tho wife passed in 2016. She not a bad looking HOSS for having just turned "27" this month.

I have the same one in my 2018 2500 8' bed with top bed rail cover and it sits perfectly, never had one leak. Highly recommend.

I have the bakflip on mine. No issues at all. My buddy paid the big bucks and got the diamond back(?) cover. Zero leaks, can hold about 1500 lbs on top of it. Looks great, but expensive.
