My bad. Didn’t realize there was a gen 4 option without the crosshair grill.

Don’t worry about the dial shifter. I am on my second Ram with the dial. It took me two drives to get used to it. If your employee aren’t smart enough to operate the dial shifter, give some thought to upgrading your employees.

Dial shifter is fine, my wife has had two Chrysler 300's with it on the console and I have it on my 2018 Ram, No problem ever for me.

Not a big fan of the dial looks wise but it works fine. Liked my floor console shifter in my old 2013 ram.

Im looking for a 1/2 ton truck for a work vehicle. It has to be white 4x4, 4doors and we need vinyl seeats and rubber floor.. Seems the only thing I can find in that category is the Ram for 2019.
I found one with 11 miles on it, but the dang dial shifter has me worried. We do landfill design and environmental monitoring which means that many times my Employees are on site back at the edge of the woods in the middle of nowhere. I worry about them not being able to get it into drive, etc after reading reports about the issues with this system. The truck im looking at is a really good deal. SO is this an issue that deserves scrutiny, or should I look at it as the number of issues is typically smale and we may never experience them. I stress, that these employees will be hours from the office and in the woods taking gas and water samples. Thoughts?
the only real issues with the dial shifter are the dumb ***** who try to shift it too fast, or hot dog it, it is an electric switch, that is all. Treat it with respect and it will last you forever. cheers

It only took me the drive home to get used to the dial shifter.
Cleaner looking than a regular shifter.

I wanted to update on this, Purchased the Ram 1500 V6 with the 8 speed for the company here. I myself havent driven it much, but the techs have been out in it a good bit. Sees dirt and mud and long trips and everything in between. Has over 20K on it now and I am very pleased with it. The v6 is extremly smooth has plenty of power once you get the revs up a bot and the 8 speed seems to be geared about perfectly. Zero complaints with the truck. I took it on a 2 hour run the other day to a landfill and it really didnt gear down often on the interstate. Its a very solid work truck and I like it better than a 2017 f-150 with the 3.7 V6 (non-ecoboost) . Seems smoother. Was a smart purchase.

The new generation of 2019’s moved the shift knob somewhat..making it way more intuitive. I came off a 2019 “classic” 3500 Cummins and I hated the ride and the klunky transmission..this truck, a Bighorn..is way more comfortable and the shifter doesn’t bother me at all. HVAC is solid, and the paint is perfect..Guess I got a good one

Still getting used to mine on my 20’ Laramie...have cranked up the volume by mistake a few times. BTW - if you turn the truck off while in gear, it will shift it into park for you...nice feature!

It works fine. I've had mine 3 years now. Still not a fan of it, but it works. Never done the volume knob thing, but have done the switching it into 4wd thing since my old truck had a 4wd knob in roughly the same location, but the new one is push button.
