2019 3/5 Drop Kit question

I have a 2019 Ram 4x4, I am debating on going with a 3/5 drop. I guess my main question is and I am sure I will get various opinions on this, but what would be the most complete kit with the smoothest ride? I am not looking for the "low rider" feel. I did that 30 years ago in highschool! I want something that has a smooth ride. I'll probably end up with 22's or 24's on it also.

I understand that there is no way to make is a smooth as factory, I just want to maintain what I can. I still drive the truck on trips and stuff like that.

How much you looking to spend? Lol

I dont know much about lowering vehicles, but i feel like air suspension would be a great way to go, as far as keeping a compliant ride.

Do you have a classic/4th gen?

No, I have the newer body style. I'm not looking to spend a ton, but don't want to cheap out either.

I'll be digging a little deeper before I spend the money.
Don't know if you realize this,but you have to cut a few of the factory brackets off on the rear end if you use the IHC kit,not a big deal if you have access to a cutting torch or plasma cutter,but it usually rules out going back to stock if you ever want to sell or trade the truck off

Only if you go with 5” drop or more in the rear. The coils come at a 4” drop, and will have to be cut to go lower.

Unless things have changed, to use the "Cut" relocation brackets you have to trim some of the original brackets off on the diff. I wasn't referring to the springs :Big Laugh:

thats what im saying…i dont think you need the cut brackets unless you go 5” or more…but maybe you do!

I was eyeing up the directions…they are very well laid out. Color pikchurs and arrows and all!

If you want it to track true and straight at speed,you should be doing the cut brackets even at 3". I'm not going into the details,as i've explained that all years ago "several" times on here,but as soon as you change the angle on the locating arms,they develop the ability to start steering the rearend at speed when you hit a bump and the suspension compresses. Think of 2 circles with one circle being smaller diameter then the other,and then throw an arm into each circle,the longer arm always has to travel farther to reach the same angle,and that's what happens with the locating arms,they don't move the same distance on a bump,and consequently they develop the ability to move the diff ahead and backwards,basically steering it.

Yea i understand link suspensions. I just have always dealt with lifted versions. Never lowered anything before.

I'd go.iiHC if it's my choice but you do have to cut up the rear axle housing to install the rear pinion angle correction brackets.

You can do it with a torch, plasma cutter or a Sawzall. But they have to be cut.

And it's a pain in the butt
