Hey guys, seeing if i can get some help/insight into an issue im dealing with I have a 2019 ram classic, 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi and crew cab. The issue at hand is filling up my tank without the gas nozzle clicking off every 5 to 10 seconds or having to pump very slow. I know/have read that there is a charcoal filter somewhere down the fuel fill neck and that it could get clogged. are there any other things that could cause this and are there any simple fixes without having to drop the tank and disassemble portions .

Every time that the Gas Tank is Topped Off or Over Filled

You stand a good chance of having Gas go into the Charcoal Canister, where there are Charcoal Pellets.
When gasoline comes in contact with the charcoal pellets, they break down

That causes issues with the rest of the Emissions System

There is a Roll Over Valve in the gas tank, it can be triggered.
If it is triggered, Gas could be blocked from going into the tank, just a possibility

Have you tried a couple of different gas stations ?
Does it do the same thing at those stations ?

There is the possibility that the Gasoline Tank has a defect.

Have you talked to a Service Advisor at the dealership ?
If it is a faulty tank, possibly they will replace it, if it is one the gas tanks on their list.

I would not volunteer anything about the charcoal canister, when talking to them

Have tried a few different gas stations for sure and different pump nozzles as well with newer gas stations. Temperature also impacted it as well. When it was hotter out it would not be as frequent

I always think the Service Advisor, in the Service Department, is going to try to say that it is you that is doing something wrong.

If you have the 2 Fuel Tank issues in your pocket & you explain just what happens at the Gas Stations.

If he or she were to say that is nothing is wrong with your Ram, then you show him what you have found

I just reread the 2nd one

Fuel system, diesel: Delivery: Fuel pump

It seems like that is ONLY for the Baby Diesel Engine 3.0L

My truck just developed the same problem. 2106 Ram 1500 3.6L. No codes. If you pump too quickly, the gas will back up and overflow. I seriously doubt this is a fuel station pump issue. If I learn anything, I'll share.
In my opinion, it could be the rollover valve (this is a simple spring loaded check valve) or something plugged a line to the carbon cannister. It would be something clogging the vent line from the gas cap to the cannister. I'm going to disconnect and blow air through it. Note that if you don't have any codes, it is unlikely to be the cannister - according to some of the diagnostic videos I've watched. Good luck to you.

I was just about to make a thread for this but figured I have the same issue and will post here.
2019 Ram classic 5.7

I truck has been fine evap wise but I had a small fender bender so my truck went to the body shop. MN is currently below freezing. I left my truck with just under half or maybe 1/4 tank.

Pick my truck up and they did a full wash, but left it out side so all my doors were frozen. I finally went to fill up gas the next day and it did the gas on for 1-2 seconds click over and over and over. I have tried 4 gas stations and all the same. No CEL's.

Called the shop as they mentioned they may/probably have to pull the bed to paint correctly. And I thought maybe the vent tube was kinked. They Said they didn't pull the box and it is super common on rams blah blah, there is a solenoid at the tank and the charcoal canister.

I have pushed a solid copper wire from 12-2 Romex down the gas fill and feel the spring flap (I think, feels like it) and I have left the truck in my friends heated garage over night thinking it was a frozen/humidity/water thing. No change.

Is there a way to test this roll over ball? Not sure where to go as people mentioned a new gas tank is $3k and I looked up my vin and it does not match a recall.

Here are some videos but everyones fix seems different, except with the evap system it seems they pop cel's where mine/ours have not
