We have our first trip scheduled for this coming weekend. We are very excited to get out. We typically camp with 3 other families and most of our trips are already booked for the year.

Twin Grove resort in Jonestown PA is open all year round. There won’t be much to do but they have good WiFi so the kids can do their school work Friday afternoon. At least we won’t be at home!

I can sit by a camp fire and work as well while we wait for our friends to arrive.

We love this campground in the summer time. They have a lot for the kids to do and there is a creek that occupies a lot of everyone’s time.

First trip out for the year in Central Pennsylvania. It’s only in the 40’s today but we are expecting high 50’s on Saturday and mid 60’s on Sunday. It’s great to be camping again.

congrats and welcome to the world of relaxation! keep us posted on your first trip. first trips are always a lil hectic, especially packing. we should start a thread about that.....first time camping advice. mine would be leave in enough time to set up in the daylight. seems pretty obvious but i have seen many first time campers trying to set up almost at dark or later. also, have some respect for your neighbors. anuone else chime in???

We should arrive around 9-11 am so that should help! I'm open to any advice to make it easier on us. We are anxious to start but I'll admit a little nervous too. I haven't towed anything more than maybe a 17 foot boat in about 35 years.

have your wife get out and help you back the trailer in. dont be nervous. i would take some blocks for under your stabilizer jacks if you dont know what the site is like. also i take leveling blocks for under the tires. my stabilizers are hand crank so i have a cordless drill also.

Advice for new campers? Where do I begin?

When she helps you back up just have her tell you what direction to move the back of the trailer, not which way to turn the wheel.

Camp in your driveway for a night. Test everything.

Gas up the night before. No need to try and fit a trailer in a gas station.

DO NOT leave your waste tanks (black and gray) open. Keep them shut until they are full. Each time after using the toilet add another bowl full of water to the black tank. And drain black tank first then gray to wash out the hose.

This last one may be obvious but you never know what bad advice someone gave before so I figure it's worth mentioning.

I have to head into work now so if I think of anything else I'll post it later.

Congrats and enjoy the trailer.

Just to add my #1 tip

Wheel chocks are the very first thing in and the very last thing out when setting up and breaking down. I've seen too many-a-trailer roll away.
