2021 Limited HUD and split tailgate delayed?

I recently ordered a 21 1500 Limited with the 6.4 box. My dealer sent me a text today saying that the HUD and split tailgate are "on restriction" right now. Anyone hear why or what the delay is?

That's strange. Some people have taken delivery of their 2021's with the HUD, and it seems to be working. The MFT has been out since late 2019 model year, so that's even stranger to me.

It is strange to me as well. My dealer has an inventory Limited with both options. It doesn't have the other equipment I want or I could have taken it.

I have both on my '21 and they are fine to the best of my knowledge. I wonder what's going on? Will be sure to follow this thread.

Ya might be something to that. I ordered a 2021 limited with both HUD and MFT on 10/5 checked yesterday and it’s still in status D gathering parts. This whole COVID has slowed the global supply chain. Anyone else have information on this?

My guess is either a parts shortage (as stated above) or a QC issue with a batch of parts they received.

Got me. My truck has a production sticker of this month and I bought it last week. Has HUD and MFT. 2021 Limited.

Did you special order it ? Or was it one the dealer had spec’d and it was already on the lot?

It was a dealer specs and order. I just happen to find it after 2 days of being on the lot. It hadn’t been inventoried yet either.

Thanks for the link. It looks like 5 options I ordered are on this list. Guess I wait and see.

New news.. ordered mine on Oct 5 and it was released to D1 status. So not sure about the constrained message you got from the dealer. Maybe the dealer does not have any allocation slots currently...don’t know

– Multifunction tailgate (MWK)
– Trailer Tow Group (AHC)
– Rambox (XB9)
– Off Road Group (AWL)
– E-Lockwer Rear Axle (DSH)

My build has Tonneau cover, Technology group, Multi function tail gate, Off road group and E-locker. Guess I just need to be patient. Likely parts shortage.

I think it was on the 12th of October.

Mine was ordered September 24th. No word yet and dealer said I would get an email when it goes to the inspection phase. I'm not in any hurry really, it's out of my control. Oh, I've got six of the packages listed above. 10-12 weeks puts it out to mid-December, hopefully in time for some end of year rebates.

UPDATE: notified 11/2 that truck just left factory and should be at dealer in 3weeks if no issues.

Update, truck went into "D" status yesterday with a VIN. Looks like things are starting to move again. Meanwhile the dealer ordered me a Longhorn as well. See which comes first. I will pick one.
