2021 Ram 1500 Limited Multi Gate Removal Problems

I have a 2021 RAM 1500 Limited that’s after a rear end collision. The car originally had the 60/40 barn doors, but we opted for the classic drop-down hatch. We put the tailgate in, removed it in AlfaOBD, so the car doesn’t look for the module. Now the tricky part - how does the release handle work? The hatch releases with the key or from inside the car - not a problem. But the problem comes when it comes to opening it using the handle. Plugging the handle in and clicking it does nothing, checking the plug using a multimeter shows nothing - although I believe it should have something? Is it the harness somewhere? Does the configuration have another thing changed or is there anything else I can do or try?

I'm not sure but I believe the latches will 'lock out' if not in the correct position. The computer is looking for logic of the latch positions so it the switches aren't in their HOME position they will be locked out & the handle will become useless. They must show latches completely CLOSED position.
