I have updated my OEM halogen headlights & turn signals with some Morimoto XB headlights and some 7440/7443: XB LED Bulbs.

I have an interesting hyperflash issue. When I use the turn signals one or both bulbs on one side or the other will work. It's very random. The turn signal lights in the outside mirror case will hyperflash but not the turn signal bulbs under the headlights.

There is no access through my UConnect to do change any settings for the turn signals. Am I right in assuming that there is a setting I can access via AlfaOBD to set the turn signals to LED? Or is there something else at play here?

Also, regardless of the headlight switch position, my low beams are always on when ACC or RUN power is on. I'd like to run the low beams when the switch is in the headlight On or Auto positions and I'd like to run the two LED bars when the headlights are on and as DRLs.

The installation was pretty straight forward and everything was triple checked during installation.

Thanks in advance for any input you may have on the issues.

Yes, AlfaOBD can access the light bulb types. Lights staying is normal but mine only do it when the vehicle is in gear. Alfa can access that too, but there should be a settings on the vehicle settings pages of your radio that allows you to turn some of that stuff on or off..

Thanks for the info. I suspected AlfaOBD has settings for these. I've just not used the tool before.

There are no such items in my vehicle settings.

Were the low beams always on during ACC or Run, prior to the LED upgrade? Sometimes they use the low beams as DRLs. This can also be set using AlfaOBD.

How do the two LED bars behave now? Do they stay on when the headlights are off? As far as I know, they should already be configured as DRLs.

If they are configured as DRLs, turn off with the headlight coming on, and you want them always on, the DRL dropout setting can be disabled with AlfaOBD. Just set this option to 'No'.

Many of us have chosen to have the ability to enable or disable DRLs through the Uconnect options.

This option can be added to the Uconnect 8.4C, although I'm uncertain if this will function for your radio. The AlfaOBD tweak for this is the first item below.

I believe those two LED bars are known as Signature LED lights. AFAIK, they can be configured in AlfaOBD as DRL's in the settings below. Also, if you want them on always, as mentioned above, disable the DRL dropout feature.

[Were the low beams always on during ACC or Run, prior to the LED upgrade? Sometimes they use the low beams as DRLs.]

With the stock headlights in the low beams functioned as DRL and were always on once ACC or RUN power was turned on.

[How do the two LED bars behave now? Do they stay on when the headlights are off? As far as I know, they should already be configured as DRLs.]

I mapped the operation out. Hopefully this is clear enough to decipher. On RUN power the low beams are always on regardless of switch position. This annoys me!

Current Operation:
ACC PwrSwitch @Low BeamLED BarHigh BeamFog
OffOffOn HighFlash OnlyOff
ParkingOffOn LowFlash OnlyOn/Off
HeadlightOnOn LowFlash & HoldOn/Off plus Off W/high beam on
AutoOnOn LowFlash OnlyOn/Off plus Off W/high beam on
Run PwrSwitch @Low BeamLED BarHigh BeamFog
OffOnOn HighFlashOff
ParkingOnOn LowFlashOn/Off
HeadlightOnOn LowFlash & HoldOn/Off plus Off W/high beam on
AutoOnOn LowFlash & HoldOn/Off plus Off W/high beam on

[Many of us have chosen to have the ability to enable or disable DRLs through the Uconnect options.]

I have the same setting enabled. I just don't want the low beam to work as the DRL. All I need for that is the two LED bars.

[I believe those two LED bars are known as Signature LED lights. AFAIK, they can be configured in AlfaOBD as DRL's in the settings below. Also, if you want them on always, as mentioned above, disable the DRL dropout feature.]

Can you clarify that for me? I see several settings in your image and want to make sure I select the right one.

Also, is there anything else I should do to turn off the low beams so they don't function as the DRLs?

Lastly I am sure I want to add the "All Six On" setting.

Thanks, Michael!

You're most welcome.

I will have to respond to this last post a bit later. I need to work on firewood.
It's very cold here.

All six 'on' are easy. Disable the foglight dropout feature.

No worries. I'm not in any hurry. I have a few other AlfaOBD options to enable:

2. Global Window Down
3. Remote Start - Keyfob skin & circuit board? Hood Latch Mod?
4. Tire size - Convert tires size circumference from inches to CM or MM - 109.4 in, 277.876 cm, 2778.76 mm
5. Tire low pressure threshold setting to 30 psi
6. Three horn honk turn off

I will answer your post inline with the PC tomorrow, but this summary should cover the basics. I'm using the stupid phone ATM

AlfaOBD lamp location/disable low beam DRL. This should prevent the low from staying on.

It sounds the LED bars are already behaving as you wish. If they are just as you wish, no further action is required.

I likely confused the issue by mentioning to disable the drop out feature.

That should correct the outstanding concerns and disable the fog lamp dropout.

No worries. I'm not in any hurry. I have a few other AlfaOBD options to enable:

2. Global Window Down

I periodically use this feature in the hot summer months. I drop the windows down to exhaust the hot cabin air as I approach the truck.

3. Remote Start - Keyfob skin & circuit board? Hood Latch Mod?

I'm not certain what you're looking for here. There are a few AlfaOBD settings if you're adding a hood ajar switch.

CBC Config I/O-Connector A Pin 11: Hood Ajar Switch Input Present

4. Tire size - Convert tires size circumference from inches to CM or MM - 109.4 in, 277.876 cm, 2778.76 mm

Converting the numbers is only a starting point. Regardless of how the circumference is determined, the true test is using a traditional GPS for verification. I set mine, measured the error with an old TomTom GPS, calculated the percentage error, tweaked and retested. This process took a few measurements/adjustments to get it nailed.

I will add the AlfaOBD location later. IIRC, 2 locations can be used, but only 1 of them is required. I've used both successfully.

5. Tire low pressure threshold setting to 30 psi

To be added.

6. Three horn honk turn off

More to follow after I get more firewood cut and the expected snowstorm arrives.

Me neither. I haven't started digging into the details. It was just a placeholder on my spreadsheet.

I appreciate your awesome input here!
