I have had my Ram for about a month now. Everything works perfect except for one thing. If I have the truck unlocked already and it has sat for a while, probably more than 15 minutes, if I open the door (any door) nothing activates. No dash, no center stack, no dome lights, nothing. Same for the ramboxes or tailgate. They won't open. It is like the truck doesn't "wake" when something that I think should happens. Now if I unlock with the FOB everything works perfect. If I open the door and hit a button such as unlock when this is happening the truck "wakes" and everything works fine.

I did take it to the dealership and showed them what was happening and they couldn't find any codes being logged and checked if any fuses were loose. Not sure what else they did but they had it for the day. They obviously had no idea and were opening a star case to see if they had any input.

Now, once in a while it has worked properly so I was hoping for a lose fuse or wire or something but hasn't been found yet if that is what it is. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they solved it. I knew a lot changed on this model when I bought it so an issue isn't totally unexpected.

I am having a similar issue. Last weekend thought it was weird my fob wouldn’t start the truck but the ram app would crank it no problem.
Then about a hour ago I walked outside hit the auto start on the fob and heard something going on but it never actually started. Opened the door to hear the radio was beeping at me, dash wouldn’t cut on, and the wipers started moving. lol Wild stuff

I don’t know warranty wise Should I pull the battery for a sec or just get it towed to the dealer?

Dead or low battery voltage was my problem. Found out from the dealers service tech cutting off the stop/start function will not allow the tuck to charge the battery.

Yep, was gonna say those symptoms sound just like a bad battery. Glad you got it figured out

Yeah kinda strange but that is what I was told. I told them I had not heard that and suggested would that not be a dealer or pamphlet info you get on purchasing day.

I preface in the month or so owning the truck I did not drive it a lot I have a company van I drive during the week 20-50 miles on weekends. So features are still new to me coming from a 2011 Chevy.

All of these described faults sound like a bad starting battery.

Our trucks are rolling microcomputers, very dependent on sufficient clean power.
Just because something is new, does not disqualify it from being defective.

Load test your batteries with a toaster-style load tester like this $18 unit from HarbourFrieght. The digital testers will often produce a false positive when there's a flakey cell.

Also, phantom current gremlins are a classic issue when we have so many electronics.
The mystery load may cause intermittent battery issues depending on the frequency of use and distance travelled.

As for the idea of having no battery charging while the start/stop is disabled, I certainly hope that's a dealership fable because it makes zero sense.

Obviously the dealer says they checked the batteries on mine before delivery. But I know there are many issues related to batteries on these. I can pick up a tester which I don't have currently.

Would it be possible to put a battery tender on it to test that to make sure it is at a full charge to see if behavior changes? I'm not sure if that works on these with the two batteries. I'm used to one battery in my previous truck which was just sized bigger to handle the start/stop functionality.
