Would you consider buying a new RAM if they offered a 250,000 mile warranty to honor the 250th anniversary of the USA? Maybe July, 2026 sales only or some other limitation, perhaps 10 year limit on the warranty.

Its one thing to run a bunch of patriotic ads (from an Italian company of course), but another to put some real oomph behind it.

I’d probably trade mine for a new one if they did this; otherwise I plan to keep it as long as I need a truck.

I have no information that they’re considering this - I saw them mention the anniversary in some ad or whatever and it got me thinking…. Curious what others here think.

The mileage aspect of a warranty doesn’t really come in to play for me. I put less than 5k miles on any one of my vehicles in a year. Even if we only had one vehicle, now that we’re both retired we wouldn’t even hit 10k miles each year. They’re already offering a 10 year power train warranty for 2026 models, which didn’t prompt me into buying a new truck. So my long winded answer to your question is, no I wouldn’t jump on a 250k mile warranty lol.

No only no but hell no.

The new ones are junk, and at best worth about 1/3 of the asking price.

Even if they had a 66% off sale, I wouldn't even consider it. Every other thread in the 5th gen forum is about someone paying 80k to let their truck set for a year awaiting parts in the dealers service department's parking lot. It seems like these days, even with the 10 year warranty, you're more likely to have the warranty run out still sitting in the dealer parking lot than ever get to drive it.

Well, it used to be 100k, 10 years, so are we talking 250k 25 years ?
Just spitballing. Lots of ways to work 250 into a promotion, but a long warranty (250 months end-to-end, not just powertrain, 250k miles, others) might help overcome the “never buy one again” reaction many of us have had to the last few years’ RAMs. It’s a lot better, IMO, than running a bunch of ads trying to drape the flag around RAM. RAM/Stellantis would get a lot of good data from a pool of long-term/warranty owners as well.

I dont know about you, but I am not in a place where I can (or even wanted too) spend 2, 3 times as much for a brand new truck as I could for a 4-7 year old one

In order for me to change that, they would have to convince me that new truck will out last 2 or 3 used ones

I don't see that happening

Exactly.

All evidence currently at hand indicates that more likely, the 4-7 year old truck will outlast 2 or 3 new ones.

I got a feeling my 2025 is going to last 250K miles. With the low mileage I put on my truck I'll be lucky to see 150K as I will likely be pushing up daisies by then.

No. Ram doesn't make a truck I'm interested in any longer. Driver monitoring, stop/start, outsourcing warranty authorization to India, months long backlogs for replacement parts, etc. etc. I don't trust their trucks and I don't trust them, so the warranty isn't relevant.

You are in dreamland if you think any mfr. would offer a 250,000 mile warranty. It would not be cost effective for any company as you know.

The subject is about a factory warranty of 250,000 miles. Not an add-on warranty
thing.

They would grab a lot of Ford guys with that warranty, but not me, not after the way they treated me with missing cameras on my new Night Edition, the run around . No more for me.

I have lifetime warranty and if that 250k was with 25yr…. I’d trade in both vehicles and buy new.

We’ve been looking at ford because they offer up to 175k extended warranty.

Well I’m over 400,000 miles on my 04 5.7 2wd . Thats now 22. I had a 100,000ml warranty. Dropped a valve at 161000. Trans at 300000. Both out of warranty . However the dealer did the rearend 5 times before 100000. (I wanted both rear wheels to turn not 1 so I think the dealer put a clutched carrier from another truck not a new one) I finally had a race shop do the rear & got 200k before the clutch’s went. Bought it new for 24k. Paid $900. For a used 55k engine & $1300. For trans rebuild. $1000. To build rearend. 1 blend door 1 rear window motor. Seeing all the issues with the newer trucks. I’ll just keep chugging along in my 04.

They offer an extended warranty with unlimited mileage but for only 7yrs.

They used to offer lifetime extended warranty

When I bought a Mazda3 years ago they offered an extended warranty deal. If you didn't use the extended warranty you got your money back.

Got the dealers 10year 100k in 04. Within the first week the E brake stopped working, power steering leaked, and had rear end fluid recall. Dropped it back off and a week latter after calling they said to come get it. Nothing had been touched. Dropped it back off for another week. Still nothing touched so I fixed it all myself. Air bag recall, same thing, a week latter they still have the truck and still waiting for parts this time.

Warranty is supposed to be a guaranty of reliability or we fix it. They failed to fix the first problems but the next problem was a water pump 200K. Service has dropped just as fast as quality since then. What exactly are you being guarantied with that warranty?

250K head gasket wept so full rebuild bumper to bumper, including some new bumpers. New Mopar live up to the old saying. Mopar! go far! walk back.

i have a 2015 crew 4wd long bed,,cummins,,they never honored anything on a 36,000 mile warranty, why would they honor 250,000 ?
on a side note , just got a notice that they would extend emissions warranty , the same emissions that kept truck in shop for months and made it unuseable until I took it all out at exactly 36,000 ! left stranded in Montana to Big Bend ,egr, def, everfything failed . was told by dealer one time, as i pulled in ,already in limp mode, that i needed to get on the highway ,,I had the rv dropped in a wal mart lot around the corner and just drove from yellowstone to houston , now deleted, did transmission cooler trick, double stabalizers in front, air intake, grid heater delete and new air horn,,like it should be,no black smoke 20 miles to gallon, and no dealer visits
