Bought the Pentastar because I drive over 100 miles a day, didn't want to be at the pump so much. Sadly I had to sacrifice a lot of power over the 5.7 so I'm wondering what my options are as far as performance for this truck. I have it looking great and it sounds good after I put a Flowmaster muffler on it, that's all I've done so far.

Stuck between just putting the money into the loan and trading it in after a year or actually spending on performance.

Any advice?

Level it with a rear 2 inch drop and it will look great. Won't help with performance but will look way better.

+1, that truck is begging for a rear drop.

It's parked on an incline making the rear look higher than it really is.

OP, to answer your question, I would look into getting a Diablo tuner.

Yeah I think it's my incline driveway making it look worse. However I do have a ton of room in those wheel wells I could fill up.. I've been thinking of trying some toyo MT's or similar tread and a bit bigger wheels to fill it up. I'm just worried about how my V6 will do with the bigger tires.

I've looked into tuners and the latest model Diablo has is for the 2014, would it still work with my 2015? The same goes for a K&N filter, 2014 is their latest. Will those still work?

Not sure about the tuner being that its a '15. I know there isnt one out yet for the Hemi's, but not sure about the 3.6.

As far as I know, the air filters haven't changed from 14 to 15.

Check out Moes performance. Matt will lead you in the right direction.
He may even chime in on this thread soon.

Or you could always dump the money on your loan like you said, get out of debt quicker and then it opens up your financial options.

A ripp supercharger!!!

I know that video is a GC but it's the same motor and yes they do sell a kit specifically for your truck.

I would be all over it if they had any love for the 4.7

Lower it with a 2/4 drop for starters. That will help the looks and handling a lot.

You said you got it for the good fuel mileage. So why worry about making the v6 something it's not. As far as paying your loan down that's a good idea , but you will still loose your ass trading it after having it a year.

That supercharger kit looks awesome. Thanks for the link that's the first force induction I've seen made for a Pentastar 3.6.

Now the question is will it blow my stock parts on the truck? I'll probably need to spend a lot more money upgrading other things to handle that power right?

As far as exhaust goes, is it worth the money going true dual and getting a full aftermarket exhaust system on a V6? Like I said all I have is a muffler, and I cut off the resonator. Stock pipes. It's a Flowmaster Super 10.

I drive 30,000 miles a year. Possibly more.

I'm not looking to bring this thing to the track or anything, I just want a little more fun on the road.

I don't think the rear end being in the air is nearly as bad as the HIDEOUS red bill board on your front facia. And to think those morons drilled holes in the facia to put their HIDEOUS red bill board on. Make that go away, and do what you can with the holes. You tinted the rear brake lights, which is always a bad idea, but you must have done it in an attempt to make the truck look meaner.....

You can go fast, or you can save money. In a heavy truck as aerodynamic as a dehumidifier, it is a physical impossibility to do both.

Personally, I like your truck a lot, other than the above mentioned abomination. Short bed, reg cab V6 is a pretty cool combo. BTW, what kind of mpg #s are you getting?

Just occationally, rev that V6 more. It'll run. Accept it for what it is. You'll be much more satisfied with it.

Here in Texas we have plates on both ends of the vehicle. That will be replaced with a plate soon. And yes, I wanted to give the truck the completely blacked out look so I dipped the lights. If you're referring to it being a bad idea for legal reasons, the light is still very visible so I'm in the clear.

Yeah, that's the problem. With the amount of money it would take to make my truck any kind of fast I'd be better off just paying it off and trading it in for something made for speed.

Thank you, as much as the lack of power bothers me I do realize I have something different on the road. I've put about 2200 miles on it since buying and averaging about low to mid 20's.

The Penta doesn't have a lot of TQ, but it does do pretty well once it's wound up good.

Fiddle fartin with the exhaust may not have done you any HP/TQ favors either,,, Doubtful that the new **** helped w/HP, and may very well have cost you some low TQ,,,

True duals??? Not enough CI/CFM involved unless you plan on using some really small dia pipes. Too large a pipe(s) on what ya have, and you'll take another hit in performance,,, Even with correct dia 'true duals', you'll most likely only get back to where you started performance wise unless you do enough additional mods to compliment the pipes,,,

I'm sure you can spend some cash and make it a bit more peppy at WOT, but,,, do you actually spend a lot of your driving time at WOT?

Yeah, I know,,, None of this sounds like what you wanted to hear,,,

Enjoy the efficiency and the zip it has for now. Pay it off and trade it in on something faster, if fast is what ya need,,,,,,,,,,,,,.

Yes, past 3,000 my truck picks up and is fun. The low end power is really disappointing though.

The big problem is and I know this is hind sight. You should of got the hemi, your going to put money into it to try to get it to run like a hemi. And your going to drop your mpg. Better pick for you would
have been a hemi with the 3.21 , baby it on the hwy and you can get 22mpg.
