As the title says, the A/C compressor on my 2016 Chrysler 300 is always on and it doesn’t matter what temp i put the climate controls to, or if i select the A/C button. Don’t know if this is normal for the Pentastar, but i’d like to find out. P.S, only reason i’m asking here and not 300c forums is b/c 300c forums is more dead than a cemetery. I mean seriously, i could get more help from my dead grandma. And for some reason, i don’t have access to post in the V6 forum.

More info: Climate controls not set to “AUTO”
A/C button not lit up/selected

I know the Ram trucks use a variable compressor so it runs more than a fixed capacity AC system. It does cycle on a low pressure control and will turn off if you turn the HVAC system off. The compressor also runs at times when you don't have it selected, something to humidity control.
If your clutch is staying on there is probably a problem with HVAC control system or the clutch itself. You should be able to unplug the electrical from the compressor and the clutch shouldn't spin.

Set them to the floor setting and make sure it's not on recirculate mode,if it's still kicking the compressor on constantly, you might have other issues
