I've had my Ram 1500 for about 6 months now, it just rolled over 10K miles, so its time for its first oil change and to address a growing collection of recall notices.

Now, my truck doesn't have ALL of these issues, but it has a handful of them. In over 40 years of driving, I have never received a recall notices and TSB's until I bought this truck! I wonder when it will end.

ground cables on power steering, drive shafts, cruise controls, brake pedals, seat belt tensioners, clunky suspension, non-working audio amp.... I could just envision myself driving down the highway, listening to my muffled radio, when all of a sudden the drive shaft breaks! I try to steer to the side of the road, but the ground short makes the truck in-steerable, so I jamb on the brakes, only to feel the pedal fall off into the floor. When I run off the road and hit a tree, my seat belts don't work!

Well, all of that should be resolved soon, but I never thought it would take them 3 days to do it. Crazy.

***** I'm sorry hit I've never put the thought into each failure like this. Guess it makes sense for the recall now though. I recently read that there typically has to be threat to life for recalls.

Hardly a day goes by that the newscasters are reporting a recall from some manufacturer. The recalls are probably less expansive than the litigation and bad pr that comes from not doing recalls. Audi just had one reported today.

3 days... pffff, I've read people who are paying for their brand new truck, while under full warranty, and not having it drive-able for months on end.

If they getrdun in 3 days, go buy yourself a lotto ticket.

I was talking to my buddy the other day about the number of recalls you hear about on vehicles nowadays. I think manufacturers are wising up that they need to "get in front" of a problem. My buddy mentioned he has owned several vehicles with active recalls that he knew nothing about.

yeah something there. My truck had 3 or 4 recalls with only 60 miles on the odometer. joy. at least they are all done. I'm too OCD to leave a bunch of them "in waiting" to be done. It also helps I am one block away from the dealer.

I could live AT my dealer and I still wouldn't want them touching my truck.

I have 2 or 3 outstanding recalls that Ill get done the next time my truck needs warranty work.

So... I got a call from my dealer that my truck was done yesterday, except that they could not replicate the thumping noise when accelerating through a turn. Yesterday, they thought it was a tie rod end, today they can't find anything. My service writer said that one time, they did hear something... and according to her, they told her that with the wheel turned fully, if you had just closed the door and the fold-out step was extended, the step could hit the wheel as it retracted. I didn't believe it, but since I couldn't see the truck, I didn't argue.

When I was driving the truck home (oddly enough, with no thumping that was 100% do-able when I took it in), I remembered that conversation, so when I got home, I looked at the step and front wheel... they are about a foot apart! I'm not sure if I have the wrong service writer, the wrong technician, or the wrong dealership, but something ain't right here.

They are the right people....for FCA.

They are very good at excuse throwing, but rest assured it is not only FCA. I actually *paid* my Infiniti dealer to diagnose a vibration I get during acceleration....they literally said "its vibrations from the sound waves of your aftermarket intake, we cant fix it". That's gotta be one hefty intake if it can shake my steering wheel at 3K RPM. SMH.
