Last night I stopped by O'Reilly again to see if their scanner could read something mine couldn't. He was able to pull up code: Ram OEM Enhanced TCM (Transmission Control Module) U1477-00 - Implausible Paddle Shifter Data Received.

Looks like the 'possible causes' are:

- Check for Steering Control Module (SCM) codes
- Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM)
- Transmission Control Module harness is open or shorted
- Transmission Control Module circuit poor electrical connection

I had him clear the codes which disappeared from my dash on my way home. I was of course hopeful that this was an inactive code that was 'left over' from before I replaced the battery. Then of course I had the same 3 service messages come on again this morning which leads me to believe that their is in fact another issue.

I am still able to manually select gears with the gear selector buttons on the steering wheel. Does anyone have experience with resolving the cause of the code?

I am no mechanic. Sounds like wiring or TCM or both faulty, disconnected, or gone bad. U R gonna have to see either a Tranny Specialist or Dealer, somebody that knows about these 8 speeds. All above not even an opinion, just a thought, and GL to U on this issue. Or at least a good shop and get it professionally diagnosed, scanned and a path for repair. Might be something going on beyond the driveway work here. (Definitely beyond a battery/alternator issue).

Leaving work yesterday all the service warnings never came on. Again, they didn't come on this morning either. Waiting for the issue to resurface..

This ended up being at least partially an alignment issue. Once the truck was realigned, the steering wheel position sensor stopped detecting 'implausible data' from the steering wheel being slightly turned to the right while driving.

Not sure if changing the battery was necessary to resolve this problem. But, it was 4 years old and was likely due for replacement anyway. Hopefully this helps someone!

Has anyone else had this problem? This happened to me within the last month and the current shop it's at can't diagnose the issue. They did the alignment last week and when I got it back I noticed the steering wheel being turned to the right when driving this weekend (and errors came back on again of course). The tech called this morning and gave up on trying to figure out what the issue is.

Because I read the last post here I told them to check the alignment again due to the steering wheel being turned to the right after I got it back.

Just to confirm...once alignment was fixed and the steering wheel position was normal, the errors went away?

Correct, the problem has not come back since the alignment.

If it was just aligned and your steering wheel is cocked to one side still, either the alignment wasn't done correctly, or you have something in your front end suspension that is bent or worn out to the point that the steering wheel isn't staying centered because it's trying to compensate for something being damaged/worn while you're driving.

I would start with rechecking the alignemnt. If all 4 points are within the manufacturers specs, (caster, camber, tow, etc) you'll need to figure out what parts are damaged in the front suspension.

Yep - called the shop with your info you posted before going to get it and they put it back up and realized the steering wheel was off a few degrees. They straightened it out, didn't charge me for anything other than the original alignment (they also tried reflashing the system, updating anything they could, etc.) and I picked it up. So far, so good. Going to get it on the highway this evening for a good 30 mile run as that's when the problems always happened.

Update....issue still persisted. Error codes stopped popping up but if often failed to inflate to the right position on each tire correctly...some mornings you walk outside and it was lowered all the way, the ride height never fully moved it to the correct position, sometimes it would figure it self out while driving...all over.
A dealer near me spent over a week researching it all and seems that Chrysler indicated to them a problem when all of my particular error codes occur (of which there were about 8 more on their read-out) means there's a leak in the compressor assembly and valve block. So they'll have to replace both along with the temp sensor and the in-line assembly.

I'll post after the fact if this does in fact fix the problem or if i'm still in limbo.

I was also curious about this. I tried taking it in for an alignment but they could not do it since there was no air.
