3500 V-10 starting issues

My 3500 has a hard time starting. When it starts, it immediately dies. This occurs several times before it finally runs. After a few minutes it dies again. What could possible cause this?

I had a 97 2500 V10. Loved that truck.

I would start with the battery. How old? The idle sensor on some vehicles is very voltage sensitive. Years ago my 03 Viper did the same. New battery solved the issue. That's a starting point.
