5.7 L Hemi
Hello, Everyone!

I'm a new Ram owner. I just got a 2018 Ram 1500 Lone Star edition with a 5.7L Hemi, Crew Cab. I just got the truck last month.

I'm a 3rd generation Ram owner.

The truck has ~35,940 miles on it, and I took it to the dealership to have the 8.4" screen replaced for a delamination bubble in it, and for a rear bench hinge that gets stuck in the folded position.

Before the warranty runs out I'd like to check for common issues that I might not be aware of yet. The dealership told me they could fix any issues I could find, but they can't go looking for issues.

To that end, I was hoping that you all might be able to help me. What are common issues that you see reported? What warranty claims have you filed on your trucks in the past.

Any helpful advice you can provide would be appreciated.

Nice looking Ram!

Really the only other thing I can think of is check the area between the back cab wall and floor for moisture. 3rd brake light water leaks happen to about every 4th gen Ram and usually about this time and mileage. 2nd common leak area is from around the square cab vents that you can see between the cab and bed.

All of these things are easier to troubleshoot if you do the rear seat mod where you can flop the rear seatback down fully.

Broken header bolts, that appears to be common and I had three. The way I knew it was when I drove near a wall that could reflect sound right back to me, I could hear the louder than normal exhaust. Nice purchase!

I've been through two on my 2014 HD 2500. First at 33K, second at 85K.

Sadly ram is the worse vehicle i have had with consideration.
One of my jeeps was crap, but it had 200+miles and i could fix it for cheap.

I used my lifetime warranty. But this will be the last ram that I own. To many visits to the dealer even though they are free.

On my 2016, I had one weatherstrip replaced and 2 fender flares glued back on in 40+k miles - real problem child.

Any paint imperfections that aren’t caused by a stone chip, pitting on your wheels (I had 2 replaced for that), manifold bolts are covered under powertrain so you have time for that, weather stripping bubble on door that runs along the bottom of the window on the exterior is common to.
