3rd gear chirp?

I was merging on to the hwy and a ford was coming up fast in the lane so I punched it. I was doing about 50-60 km/hr when I punched it and to my surprise I got a real nice loud chirp. I have almost 2000km on it now and it feels like it is running better and better the more I drive. My truck is completely stock. Anyone else hearing some nice chirps when they punch it?

What trans do you have? Never heard any when I had mine with the old trans.

6spd Automatic 65RFE Transmission.

That chirp you heard was your 2nd prime clutches breaking apart lol, seriously though, It always puts a smile on my face when I chirp second but chirping 3rd is a badge of honor.

I dunno if I just have a factory sucker or what, but I can barely get a squeak out of it, and I don't want to really **** it yet. Hopefully the goodies I'm about to order from Moe's will do something about that haha

Lol it very well could have been a second. It might have dropped down when I punched it. I had a big smile for the guy in the ford when I slowed down and he caught up to me lol

LOL,i used to have a favorite right hand merge corner for my old 400 powered 79 Gran Prix,the car would always bark the right rear tire on the shift into drive on that corner

A second gear chirp on upshift is what you want to strive for, hard downshifts in D mode are hard on any tranny especially the 2-1 on a Hemi platform if not using an auto stick.

ive made my second gear chirp a few times
