Now before anyone mentions searching please realize I have rather extensively. It seems many 3rd gen ram owners have tried this but nobody in the 4th gen community has. The few threads on various forums I've come across raise more questions than answers. Has anyone found a good write to this or attempted this? I know the mechanical aspect of this isn't challenging but rather the electrical side with the ECM and TCM wanting to play well with the wiring. Any information on the subject would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think you have it there man, you would need an entire body wiring harness as there are probably small differences between the to ECM's and it would take an enormous amount of time to go through all of those wires to figure out what is different.

Anything is possible with time and enough money. The problem is if you value either, selling what you got and buying what you want is dollars and common sense ahead.

It's not so much the ease of just going and trading it in as much as I would just like to tackle said swap. More of something to do. Obviously then a write up can be done etc.. But also if clearly documented it would make it much more cost effective for anyone else to go out and do. I've seen a few 3rd gen guys have some luck with this. I guess time to track down a donor truck.
