4.7l to 6.1l

So this may have been talked about alot here. I tried to do a search and came up with people's opinions or suggestions on other sites. but an answer was never put into concrete.

So HAS ANYONE or DOES ANYONE know if you swap a 6.1l into a 4.7l 02-08 RAM 1500. I'm sure you can do it. but does the tranny bolt directly up? does the rear end have to be altered?

any answers would be greatly appreciated. I'm still on the edge about either a 4.7l (which i can find ANYWHERE), or the 5.7l Hemi is alittle tougher to find. But if i knew i could install a 6.1l or hell even a 5.7l hemi and bore it out. Those might be my other options if my motor blows or i throw a rod. Then I have easy options to upgrade.

I haven't done the swap, but there are more than a few who have. The rearend and trans are the same. Keep in mind there are tons of details that have to be addressed and solve when you break away from a stock configuration. Welcome to the forum...
