Hello there, im new to this so bare with me.
I recently purchased a 2012 ram 1500 with a factory 4" lift and I was wondering if I can do a 2" body lift since I want it just a tad bit higher, is it possible and if so where do I look??

I didnt think Rams came with a lift from the factory...if it did have one when you bought it...it might have been dealer installed...

Well i bought it stock but the dealer offered a 4" inch lift, got it for a reasonable price too!! Plus the warranty will cover it if ever something is to happen to it so i got a win win situation

You can do a body lift on top of a suspension lift, just a matter of what size body lifts are available. There is a 1.25" body lift

As far as I know the only options we have for body lifts are the Rough Country 1.25" or the Performance Accessories 3" kit.

yeah, never seen a 2" for these trucks.

The 1.25 is a nice setup though. No major modifications needed for the install, just a few holes to drill on the bumper brackets.

Check with Dave (RamHunter9). If he can't get it, check with the guys at Modern Performance Company (another vendor here).

You could also add a set of bilstien adjustable shocks on the front to get the front end a little bit higher

That depends on which 4" kit he has. If it's the Superlift (coined "Mopar" lift), then yes. If it's the Rancho 4" then no because the lift is already achieved through longer shocks.

I have the RCX 1.25" body and have no complaints....other than kicking myself for not going with the 3".

I heard someone say you can't run the bestop boards with the 3".........though I can't figure out why that is.

It has something to do with when a particular arm retracts, it retracts back directly into the frame. They can be fabed to work, but requires cutting into the frame (I'm told).

I may or may not get power boards...who knows. My mind is always changing. I still like having no step and watching people figure out how to get in anyway. LOL

That makes sense. Didn't think that far back. :D I was under mine cleaning up from the install (adjusting exhaust, putting the fog HIDs back in, getting the wires out of the way for the steps) - didn't even dawn on me that the frame would do it.
