4 wheel drive system needs service

My 4 wheel drive system service light came on and now the 4 wheel drive is inoperable. Only have 11K miles on truck and used 4 wheel drive once in the smokey mountains in snow. Do I really need service? Seems kinda quick. I have had this light come on and back off a couple times before. Looking for answers. I did bring to the dealer for repairs, along with the check engine light. I have a 2013 3500 Ram Diesel.

Sounds like there is a problem, shouldn't have a light on already. I put many miles on both of my CTD's and never had the service 4wd light come on
