So i have a 2011 ram reg cab and im looking to put a exhaust or muffler swap on it, im looking for the most performance oriented set up, i know back pressure comes into play and such. What is it that i DONT want to do thats going to make me loose power? my buddie has the mufflex delete and i love it, is it a good way to go performance wise?

What sound are you looking for?
Ive got a single in dual out 30 series flowmaster and MRBP tips on mine and it sounds awesome, a little loud but still good. I get alot of compliments on it deep tone.

If your looking for performance go with a straight through design. But realistically your not gaining anything with a muffler swap, just sound preference. Straight through mufflers flow better than chambered mufflers.

I like the sound of the mufflex delete kit, looking for it too be louder, also like the aero turbine 30 30. My main thing is performance as ill be doing full bolt ons including lt headers

Is a cat back system going to do anything for me though vs a muffler swap and resonator delete? Thats what im seeing these aftermarket systems to be is just that

While I've always held the idea that SOME back pressure is good, these trucks seems to be the exception...

IIRC, Moe's performance has seen time improvements with the cutouts and simply dumping the exhaust after the Y pipe.

Like said above, the less restriction in the exhaust the better. If this exhaust setup is the first stage of the modifications, then you will probably feel a loss of low end tq on the street with a muffler delete though. At WOT it will be faster, but at part throttle, a delete on an otherwise stock truck will make it feel a little more sluggish around town.

I would start with a tuner first, and then start working on the airflow mods.
