5th gen center console in 4th gen

Anyone know if the 5th gen center console will bolt up in place of the 4th gens? really like the extra room that the new center consoles have and would do the swap if anyone has some input on if it will work or not.

Probably not. I believe that the interiors are completely different

There’s a thread in member trucks area. He did it. I don’t think it’s bolt direct fit. Required a little work. The build I’m referencing basically put a 5th gen interior in his 4th gen.

Works...
Had to take out vent pipe underneath console
Had to trim bottom on both sides for hump on floor
Used a switched 12v and ground wire to splice in the usb ports.
Not bolted in yet.
But I'm happy so far
Need those side pieces like 3rd pic has in his.

Did you try wiring the usb ports up so they’d work with your head unit? I’m trying to on mine but they won’t support CarPlay. Don’t k ow if I’m doing something wrong or it’s a bad media port or what

If you look at a 2023 2500 series, they use the "Classic" cab configuration. I was sitting in our 2023 Big Horn 2500 at work when I noticed this, and was wondering about door panels and dash, although I doubt the electronics for the gauges are the same, but one would assume the center console in the 2023 2500 series would fit in the classic body. Also, the tailgate and tail lamps should work too on the Gen 4's off this model, just looks like front fenders, hood and grille/bumper are definitely different.

Got it to fit with some mild cutting of the front section it bolted right up.

You put that into 2012? Looks good. I have a 12' standard cab I was considering putting a console in. I think you just made up my mind for me and screw puttin in the period correct one, that new console is slick!

5th gen center console with the side pieces out of a 4th below the radio bezel? That looks very good.

Do you need the brackets from a 4th get to bolt it down? I’m thinking about doing this on a 40/20/40 truck.

I know this is an old thread but I have a 2020 center console and I plan on putting it in my 2012 ram. Anyone get the usb ports to work?

I was able to get Android Auto to work on my swap, but only from the 2 usb's on the right. I'll pull everything apart tomorrow to look at my pinouts.

What did you use to mount it to the floor? 4th gen brackets or the 5th gen brackets or did you make your own? I have the interior of a 2020 to put in my 2016. Doing the same thing.
