Mine is a Crew cab, 4x4, Laramie, Hemi (no etorque), 3.92, air suspension, panoramic roof, 12” screen.

Payload is only 1352!

I’ll be towing a Jayco 26bh weighing 5000 dry, 7000 gross. This will be the family road trip vehicle. I use a weight distribution hitch so that should help getting some weight back onto the trailer.

With two teenagers in the back, 500-600lb tongue weight, a generator, a couple of bikes in the bed along with a few other lighter items I’ll be right up against max payload.
I’m pretty safety conscious but in this case I’m so far below max tow rating and max GCVW I’m not going to worry about being over 100-200 lbs on payload. I’ll hit the scales and maybe have a pleasant surprise and find I’m under.

my laramie is similar to yours. I get 1324# payload to pull my 28' Freedom Express about the same wt. as yours. I went to CAT scale and had mine weighed. with me (225#) and the wife (120#) and full fuel I have 900# left for everything else. trailer tongue wt. is 560# so about 340# for gear and supplies so I just dont carry much in the truck bed. added bike rack on rear trailer ladder and am going to move trailer spare back there to get some wt. off truck.

luckily these trucks pull great, you just need to pack lite and carry as much of your gear as pos. in your trailer. mine also calls for 32# in the tires but when towing I bump to 36-38 for more stiffness. the tires show a max cold pressure of 51#. I also swapped out the rear swaybar for a siffer one.

i'm pulling a 8100lb 5th wheel, with the bighorn, 3.92 rear end, pulled up and down the hills of I75 in KY, no issues going up them and mainly no issues coming down them and braking. Very happy with the new ram

I have looked all around for a 5th wheel that would not be over my cargo limit of about 900# after me and the wife and fuel and have not found any. lightest I have found all seem to be 1100# and up.

website only show the max payload without factoring the options. The door sticker has the true payload for your truck.
Each option will reduce your payload.
eg) sunroof 200lbs, 4x4 150lbs, etc
someone posted weight of each option in another forum. h t t p s://b i t . ly /31XIHnV (this forum doesn’t allow URL)

I looked at more than 10 different 2019 Ram 1500 and 2500 at local dealer’s lots. Most of them have about 500-600 lbs lower than advertised payload on the door sticker.
Ram 1500 normally comes with 1200-1400lbs paylod for crewcab 4x4 hemi
Ram 2500 normally comes with 1800-2000lbs payload for crewcab 4x4 diesel (you can get about 800 additional payload with hemi on 2500)

that said, well equipped Ram 1500 can’t tow mid sized 24ft trailers with 7500 gvwr (tongue weight about 1000lbs + 4 passengers 500lbs). You can get better payload with trademan or bighorn with no options though. Even full size SUVs have 1300-1400lbs payload, sadly.
So, I ended up buying Ram 2500 Cummins, I am very satisfied with the truck, getting about 18 MPG with a lot of power (local+highway)

my '19 fully equipped laramie pulls our 28' 7000# gvwr travel trailer fine. it usually weighs around 6000# when towing and I dont go over 70 ish. I get 8.5-11 at that speed depending on how hilly the route is. with 4.56 1st gear and 8 spd. tranny it tows fine. where it lacks is in low cargo capacity so have to pack light or put more stuff in/on the trailer.

19 RAM Bighorn. Crew cab 4x4 5.7L with 8 speed and 3.21 rear gear. My payload is around 1400# and my towing capacity is right at 8,200. I have only towed my three place ATV trailer 2999 GVWR, and my fully loaded camper @4400 GVWR. I do however tow it in Colorado near 5000-11000 feet. It does great. About MPG towing, 17-19 highway not towing. Once got 20 across flat part of Wyoming
