I have seen so much conflicting info it is driving me crazy! I have a 2021 Ram 1500 4x4 Night Edition and am looking to do my first upgrades ever lol. I am looking to do a 2" level in the front (spacers) and my 1st question is do I need to replace the control arms as well? Next hurdle is I want to add new tires to my existing 20x9 wheels and do not want to use spacers. I do not want to go that big but was thinking 285/60/20 in a Nitto, Toyo or BFG KO2. Does anyone run this setup or know if this size tire will work without rubbing or any issues? I have some that say size will work fine and others that say it may rub on control arm and that I should stick with a 275. Thanks for the help!

33.5" tire ....should work. Not 100% sure about rubbing on a 5th gen. Have you posted over in the 5th gen forums?

Lot of guys here running 275's (32.25") on 4th gens w/o any problems, and I think some guys are running 285's.

FWIW, I found this on a google search (I've not tested it):

What Are The Biggest Tires You Can Fit On A Ram 1500?

The largest possible tire size you can fit on the Ram 1500 without any hindrances is 35 inches. But with a little truck modification, you can fix bigger tires measuring 39″ or even more. However, this may require you to cut bigger wheel wells, trim the body mounts, and roll the fenders.
