60/40 Split Rear Bench Storage

I am purchasing a Ram 1500 Classic Big Horn. This gives me the 60/40 folding rear seat. The storage area underneath is going to be something I use regularly for fishing poles and long guns during hunting seasons. I will have a car seat on the passenger side which is the 60 side of the bench and if anyone has installed a car seat they know it is not something you want to have to take in and out all the time. Can anyone tell me if when I lift the 40 side of the bench will I be able to slide a long gun out of there without lifting the other side up as well?

You might find it easier to do the rear seat fold down mod:

Rather than doing any cutting, you csn just flip the steel loops over, than fine tune with a ball peen.
