Look at the bright side. Dealer is paying for the rental and once you get your truck back it'll be like driving a new truck all over again :)
That is very true, but right now, I feel like I abandoned my kid...

Seems like every manufacturer is hiding behind the Covid thing for their excuses.
I waited 2 months for a special wire harness for a Mercury outboard. None to be had anywhere and evey month Merc said "due at the end of the month. Finally bought a good used one off ebay for half the price and had the service shop install it.
Enough of this BS already!

Again, the parts are at a different dealer but no one wants to pick up the $90 shipping charge. Instead FCA is paying $2100 for a rental to date. Assine, totally assine.
What area do you live in?
I don't want to need parts there.
The parts are made at a supplier factory every day of every week not a Ram plant.
Your problem is with the people who have your truck with weeds growing around it. Where they decide to get their parts from is a mystery.
In the real world it's a matter of days for parts. I don't think FCA is paying for your rental. Probably a loaner from the repair place.
They may be blowing smoke making it sound like they are doing something as they sit around the beer fridge after doing nothing all day.
Oh and the word is INSANE not Assine.

No, I just misspelled it.

Asinine

Utterly stupid or silly

adj. 1. Utterly stupid or silly: asinine behavior. 2. Of, relating to, or resembling an ass.

Get ahold of Corporate and let them know the poor service you're getting. Also let them know that the dealership would rather spend their money on rental cars then shipping, blah blah blah.

When I threw a rod on my 2018 Ecodiesel (33,000 miles!) I towed it to the dealer I got it from. They gave a loaner truck and I figured on a couple weeks till they got the long block swapped out. Then I found out they were down to searching Craigslist for the parts. They offered a trade-in price as though the truck was running and now I am in a 2500 diesel.

Small rant;

Anyone having issues with dealer part delays?

My 09 ram has been at the dealer waiting on spider gears for 60 days. Yes, it's a warranty repair and of course, its covid's fault and blah, blah, blah....But, this is how stupid this has become, the parts are at a different dealer but they won't pay $80 for the shipping. But they will pay Enterprise for a rental car for 60 days.

I'm told covid has created delivery delays nationwide so I thought I'd throw it out there....
Suck ass dealer like mine. lol

The problems of supply chain backup and backlog are so prolific that its the subject of commentary in all the main financial media outlets. Its driven by absenteeism, lack of capital in the smaller entities in the supply chain, a lack of surge capacity after shut downs in many businesses but above all by a lack of transparency through the chain. Most customers (like us) have no idea what their/our suppliers have, when they will get what they have ordered, how many are on order and the schedule of the supply of product to them, let alone us. when the supply chain was stuffed so to speak, with excess inventory at all levels, it was possible to schedule material at the different levels from this buffer. Covid but mostly the mandatory shut downs, resulted in this buffer being depleted and not replaced.

The long and the short of it is that we have to be patient. It will take literally years to restore the Just In Time process supported by excess. We probably will not see a transparent supply chain in the next 30 years because the cost to digitize these networks because every single element of the chain uses a different protocol, software, and quality standard for data. This is one of the reasons that the vaccines for Covid, when released for sale by the various global authorities (also without any harwiring or formal linkages) will take years to become available to the general public let alone the aid/subsidised community. And this is without he vacillation by many of the public as to whether they should get vaccinated at all. This supply chain is seeing for example, a shortage of refrigeration to store this stuff. Without the specified refrigeration, a pharma distributor cannot order or hold the vaccines when they become available. This shortage is driven by a a shortage of compressors and hardware whose shortages are driven by a surge in domestic demand for refrigerators and building materials/HVAC - and so on down the line.

So cool your jets guys and wait - its the way its going to be for everything for some time to come.

I'm totally confused how this China Covid attack has disrupted our country so much. It's sad that a lot of people have died from this epidemic but our whole country is dyng also. Ive been waiting for recall part for over 6 months and they say they can't get it. Truck could catch fire as my friends did and to be honest wish it would so I could get a chev or Ford as this 17 eco is junk

It goes to show just how much this country relies on China for way too much.

Should have mentioned this in my previous reply:

Have you been to Home Depot or Lowes lately?

Check the shelves in the tool areas. Starting to get very very bare. Been that way for months, even after China "solved" their Covid issues. Hell they have more Lysol/wipes/hand sanitizer/masks than they do tools.

My only hope is that "big brick and mortar" drives a revolution to back to made in the US, if only because they won't have anything left to sell!

So, after a bunch of BMW's (*****, moan and Whine), the dealer paid for the shipping on the parts and I got the truck back yesterday. Today, it's going back in because the transfer case tailshaft is pouring fluid out.

- Momma said there be days like this....

Welcome to the world of warranty work. They usually give the warranty work to the janitor and if he's busy, then the they let the girl at the payment window do the work......

Yep. The top tier mechanics and specialists didn't do warranty work because it didn't pay enough. Sometimes the service advisor could beg or bribe them. Once the owner "ordered" the transmission man to do some warranty work. The next week he was gone. Got a job at a competing dealer with his own 2 bays and a helper paid for by the dealer.

That guy kept his own stock of already rebuilt C4 & C6 transmissions. He would get flat rate pay for 2 transmission rebuilds per day. On the weekends he would rebuild the ones from that week in his shop at home if his stock was low. He was making a boat load of money and had nearly 0 comebacks. Maybe 1 per year if that.

So, mine isn't a Mopar parts issue - but I orderd a BDS 6" coil-over kit, UCA's, and TIS 544BM wheels with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Took only 3 weeks to get my UCAs, but 13 weeks to get my lift, and just over 9 weeks to get my wheels/tires. However, Amazon has been delivering **** left and right in like record time! My canin air filter kit and K&N filter took less than a week to get here.

That’s it, 60 days? Takes us 56 days to get a letter from Canada post up here! Dont even want to start about parts! Sometimes they say it’s just “lost” and give you your money back after you forgot that you even put based a part to begin with! I feel your misery brother!
